Great laid back 9 hole course staff super friendky good couse to practice or for first timers

Hidden Gem
While visiting my parents in Wilmington, NC my father had recommended that we drive the hour to play The Vineyard Golf Course. The pro staff were friendly while being very professional. We intended on using the practice putting green however, the lady next to start her round insisted that my father and I tee off before her as to not delaying our round. We found the tee boxes, fairways and greens to be in great shape. The layout offers a few challenging shots without discouraging golfers new to the game. Our round was extremely enjoyable. Nobody waiting behind us, nor were we waiting for players ahead of us. I would definitely reserve a future tee time the next time I find myself in Wilmington. A true hidden gem of a golf course.
NC Country Golf
I spent a week visiting my parents in Wilmington, NC. While on my visit, my father and decided to play some golf. He recommended The Vineyard Golf Course as he had play there before. I called the pro shop to reserve a tee time. We arrived 25 minutes prior to my reserved time and the gentleman at the pro shop was kind and courteous. Initially we had planned to use the practice putting green, however a woman that was leaving the practice green to start her round, insisted that we tee off ahead of her to prevent slowing us down. This gesture was greatly appreciated. We found each tee box well taken care of. The fairways were also in great shape. We were also amazed how well every green was well manicured which made putting a pleasure. The course offers several challenges with water hazards, waste bunkers as well as some well placed green-side bunkers. The staff were all very professional and accommodating making our experience that much more memorable. Well worth the price and the drive to get there. Definitely a hidden gem.
Cheap is cheap. Moral of the story
Played a quick 18. Finished in 98 minutes. So can’t complain about pace of play. For 29$ you cant expect much, but course conditions were meh at best. Doesn’t help I was on my way home from Kiawah. But I wish I knew that the holes were all doubled up because I would’ve just played 9. Some holes share a green. You end up just playing the 9 holes twice. Real quirky and weird. Cheap and quick. Good enough.
Nice, Quiet Course for the Money!
VERY quiet, almost no one else on the course for our Friday at 9:00 tee time! It was a great little course for my wife who’s just learning the game to get out there and hit some balls. Greens were in terrific shape for the cost of the round, fairways groomed, but the rough is patchy for springtime. Will definitely be back for a few more rounds. Carts were nice for the money as well! Staff was very welcoming, overall a great experience.
Average
If states I missed it, it’s a 9 hole course that have different tee boxes to make it “18”. Greens were not in best of shape. It was a fun outing.
Nice course
A 9-hole course with 2 different tees so the holes were slightly different for each 9. Staff lady was very friendly and course wasn't too crowded. The fairways and greens were in average shape and I enjoyed the round. The only negatives were that the cart paths were very rough and the sand traps weren't in very good shape.
Vinland Golf Course
Staff was very friendly, asking how the round was going at the turn and after the round. Remembered me even though I was not a regula.
Course was not very challenging, so would be good for beginners. Did need some TLC. Looks like they are trying to improve the amenities offered other than golf.
Fun course
This is is a 9 hole course. The course needs a lot of work from the pathways to the fairways. You play the course twice with front 9 playing one color and the back another color located on a different tee box. Despite the course conditions its a fun course to play. High and middle handicappers would enjoy it since it tests your skills but does not require precision golfing. This would not challenge low handicappers. Value worthy if your looking for an inexpensive golf experience.
Whiteville country club
Course is friendly for new golfers. No wait, Little water, and decent greens. Layout is crisscross, but enough room not to hit into nearby fairways.
Vineland first time
Course layout is tight between holes but very playable. Not much water to lose balls and is an excellent value to practice all golfing skills.
Staff were amazing, very friendly. Course was quite dry but greens were in good shape and we really liked the wide open fairway. A great deal!
Good experience
The pace of play was excellent and the pro shop person was very friendly and helpful. I'm a high handicapper and I found the wide fairways perfect for me.
It's a 9-hole course but had different tees for each nine which kept it interesting.
I enjoyed the round and will play here again.
