The course is challenging with all of the dog legs.
It was either hole 17 or 18 where you see another tee box off to the left about 100 yds. I feel its an accident waiting to happen. Other than that i enjoyed the course.
old style course
not the easiest course especially if you are not playing well , tree lined, plenty of sand , some green sit up a bit and when we played it was pretty windy, nice course , just not my most enjoyable day playing
beautiful course
great course. could have played quicker. ready golf should be enforced.
love this course!
we played behind some slow players.. which was quite frustrating! 3 in carts, playing from Blues should have been faster than 4 playing from whites behind them!
Good Park is a very good course. Roughs are cut to maximize ball location and pen placements are fair.
Good Park is a well maintained public course that has matured gracefully over the years. The use of trees to narrow and shape the course has produced a manageable but challenging track. Tee boxes are moved regularly, greens are in great shape, roughs are shorter (yea!), and the time to complete the 6200+ yard is reflective of course conditions. Go Good Park!
Challenging, tight course, thick rough, slow greens - hard to score
Hit is in the rough - lose a stroke - very punitive. Tight course. Greens very slow due to recent rains. Challenging layout, excellent value. Hard to make up shots on greens because so slow.
Had two guys playing from blues as a twosome who made my wife and I wait on most shots. We would have played in 3 hours comfortably otherwise. Hope they were playing for a lot of money, because they were slow and the whole course was open ahead of them.
The muni is a beauty!!!
Lived 30 miles from this course and never played it - I have played it twice now and love it! - Old school, tree lawn fairways, nice greens, friendly staff...I ran out of gas in my automobile and the starter helped me out also!!
Staff and greens need attention.
Greens are not being kept well so far this year as I have played Good Park for the past 7 years and the greens have NEVER been this slow or poorly kept.
The staff is rude, and poorly mannered, aside from the woman working in the snack bar area who was very friendly.
I won't return this summer unless I hear from a reliable source the Greens are in much better shape, and the price of the course during weekday specials drops 5 to 10$.
Beautiful course until you find the rough
Everything about the course was great except for one thing: the rough. If you hit your ball off of the fairway at all, good luck finding it. Half of our round was spent looking for golf balls. The rough was long, thick and almost impossible to hit from.
Doglegs Aplenty
Half of the holes are doglegs, Bert Way must have felt a need to build doglegs here to make up for the relatively straight holes he designed at Firestone South. The rough had not been cut yet this season, which made it tough to find balls off of the fairway. The tees were in good shape. The greens were spotty, and in no way, were they as good or fast as the practice green.
A very beautiful and challenging course
The course offers enough dog legs to make the game more interesting and challenging especially your 425yd par-4..Your par3's are wonderful and soft. Everything about your course makes it one of my favorites, especially the home made food.
good value
Good Park is a well maintained city owned course that is challenging to the average golferand a very good value.
Not a place I would go back to
played only half the holes and would not even give us a 9 hole rain check. Sounded like they frowned upon GOLFNOW uses. Probably won't go back anytime soon
Definitely put this on your "play" list.
If you like a challenging, well maintained golf course than play Good Park if you're ever in the Akron area. It's only 6,600 yards with no water and only about 30 traps, but there are thousands of trees that line almost every hole. Great test of golf!!
The course is super value for a public course
My wife and I played the course in 3.5 hours yesterday.
Course was in excellent condition.
Staff is always user friendly.
I do not like your sliding scale rating system.
I do like the "hot deals"!
great course
Greens were very good for season .Layout of course is challenging i like it. Leaves are always a problem . Cant always find your ball but they were out cleaning them up.
I completely agree with you. The staff is insanely rude with no idea how to run a golf course and the woman at the turn is the only goodstaff member I have encountered since playing there.
