About
Shawnee Hills is home to two different golf courses, an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole, par-3 layout. The 18-hole course has a front nine that plays across gently rolling hills accented with water hazards while the back nine presents a different set of challenges with more dramatic hills covered with forests of mature pines, maples, and oaks. The scenic Deer Lick Creek also runs alongside the back holes. The second half of the golf course definitely has more of a Carolina-feel to it while the front nine is more like a Florida course. The back is a bit tougher than the first half of the course, but wide fairways throughout make it a fairly forgiving layout overall, though the golf course boasts what may be the toughest hole in the Cleveland Metroparks, the par-4 fourth. This dogleg left hole plays uphill and demands accuracy with a line of trees on either side.

Excellent course conditions
Only played a few courses so far this year and this course is in the best condition of all of them. The weather was perfect and the rough was maintained very well. The fairways are always in excellent condition.
Shawnee - nice course
Enjoy playing Shawnee... Metro pArks keep it in great shape despite the hackers who play there, including me :). Always have a fun 3.5 - 4 hours of golfing adventure... Driving range, Chipping and Putting to help you before you golf if needed.

Mudfest
My precious experience at this course has been nothing by positive, but this outing was no fun at all. I know you are taking a gamble when playing in early spring when conditions can be a little soggy, but this course was almost completely unplayable. There was standing water on most fairways, and the rough? Forget it. I ruined my shoes trying to hit a shot out of the second cut. On this particular day, the course should have NOT been open for business, and I could have gone to another Metroparks course like Sleepy Hollow, or Manakiki, where conditions may have been better.
Fun Course
Shawnee Hills is a fun course to play, yet it still offers a challenge to mid to high handicappers!! The greens are in excellent condition despite the amount of rain that has hit the area. The fairways were a bit mushy, but didn't get too many plugs. I'll be back!!

One of the best green maintenance in the region. The superintendent is doing a very good job. The greens are perfect.
Excellent Condition
Played this on a hot deal from Golf Now. Course was in excellent condition. I didn't know what to expect as most courses have aerated the greens this time of year, but Shawnee's greens were PRISTINE. Seriously, it was like putting on glass. They were lightning quick, providing a great challenge. I've grown used to greens running around 8-9 on the stimp but these must have been in the 11-12 range (professionals play at that speed). Greens that nice are much easier to read and much truer to the read. There aren't any bumps to knock your ball off-line. The course layout was straight-forward. Pretty much no hazards and very short. The tips are 6300 yards. There are a couple of driveable Par 4's if you're a bomber.
The best day for my best round.
A very well kept course, except for the sand. It was the only thing that needed attention, due on part of the huge rain fall, that happened the night before. Everything else was excellent. The greens were perfect.
Good Condition
Considering how little rain we had this summer, the greens were in very good shape and the fairways were also well-maintained.
A gem of a course
Play this course for the second time and enjoyed it very much. Course was well manacured, greens were fast and true. Staff was very friendly, I would for sure play this course again

Great Cleveland Metroparks course
Shawnee Hills is a fantastic course that always plays a challenge because of the tight holes that are tree lined. The greens were spectacular and rolled very well. I really enjoyed how kept the fairways were. The rough played to be more difficult because of how wet it was and they had not had a chance to mow so it added some more challenge to your greenside shots. The starter was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
I'd go back
Fun course with some real challenging moments I didn't have my A game on the front so I am not sure I can completely speak to the difficulty. The back nine actually seemed easier overall even though two of the three hardest holes on the course great you within the first three holes of the back. I really like the course and would go back. Pace of play was a bit of concern like so many of the Metropark courses., but our last couple holes moved pretty well.
Good course
Good course for a metro parks public course. The hot deal was worth it, definitely not worth the regular price.
Good layout and a challenging yet playable course. Biggest complaint was they had rangers driving around all day and were there almost every hole. They were distracting and served no purpose
Course in exceptional shape considering the amount of play
Other than the starter being a PitA the rest of the staff was great. The pace of play on front 9 is somewhat slow due to the volume of golfers. Greens, fairways and tee boxes are better than any course I have golfed this year! Awesome course but wish they would let carts get closer to the bag drop.
Shawnee Hills
It was an excellent experience from booking through the final putt. The course was in amazing shape, the staff was friendly and if I could only hit the ball a little straighter it would have been a perfect afternoon.
Nice park course
Have not played this course for many years but it is well maintained municipal course cuts through the woods beautifully and greens were exceptional
