Regulation Eighteen at Shawnee Hills Golf Course
About
Shawnee Hills is home to two different golf courses, an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole, par-3 layout. The 18-hole course has a front nine that plays across gently rolling hills accented with water hazards while the back nine presents a different set of challenges with more dramatic hills covered with forests of mature pines, maples, and oaks. The scenic Deer Lick Creek also runs alongside the back holes. The second half of the golf course definitely has more of a Carolina-feel to it while the front nine is more like a Florida course. The back is a bit tougher than the first half of the course, but wide fairways throughout make it a fairly forgiving layout overall, though the golf course boasts what may be the toughest hole in the Cleveland Metroparks, the par-4 fourth. This dogleg left hole plays uphill and demands accuracy with a line of trees on either side.

The condition of this course has improved over the last five years or so. It is in very good shape. It generally presents a good challenge but is not overwhelming for the average player. Fun to play this course.
Nice day on the course.
Played on a really hot day,but there are plenty of wooded areas to catch some shade, so the heat was not an issue at all.
Fairly simple layout with a few exceptions. Not overly difficult, or easy.
Greens were immaculate. Each green has a very subtle tilt to it, ensuring that almost every putt will break a little bit, but are still very fair and enjoyable.
Excellent course for the money.
Fairways outstanding shape
Front pretty much flat nice. ....I loved the back 9 I'm going in fall for colors in the tree's
Good
Enjoyed very much . Course has no good drainage for which it was a cart path only , even though it did not rain that much
Great course!
For the money, you can't beat the Metroparks courses. Not only that, but the staff was great and explained the rain check policy very clearly. It was raining pretty good when my tee time came up, but it passed and I was able to play without delay. The conditions of the course were really nice considering all of the rain. The maintenance crew were out working hard to keep the course looking nice and the rangers were out making sure people were staying on the cart paths because of the rain and not destroying the course. I'd definitley recommend playing here.
Excellent Service
All the staff was open & friendly.
The course is beautiful and surrounded in nature.
Easy enough for my wife, and challenging enough for me.
Love golfing at Shawnee!
Solid Course
Great course, fun to play. Not entirely certain it's worth a $40+ round though.
Good Value
Course is well maintained and the pace of play was very good. Greens in excellent shape. Very good value.
Great conditions (both fairways & greens)
I've played here tons of times before and was highly impressed by the course conditions this time around. Both the fairways and greens were in the best condition I've ever seen. The course isn't entirely too difficult, but the fast paced greens made up for that and were the fastest I've ever seen them run. With GolfNow and most prices being $20-$25 range this course is a super great value for your $ and would recommend it to anyone.
good for seniors and novices
Though not a bad track, the course plays slow due to lots of seniors and novice golfers.
Pretty Nice course
The greens needed to be a little faster and just a tab more consistentfrom green to green
Well worth a try
If you're looking for a perfectly manicured course with pristine traps and tightly cut greens with zero bounce you'll have to keep searching. This one is worth a look given its nice layout, parklike setting and elevation changes which add to its charm. It is never in bad condition but gets a lot of play so there are rough areas on some tee boxes and greens. You won't be disappointed.
Okay for the price
An open course. You should score well. Greens were fast today.
Very scenic layout.
Great condition, but the greens, while generally very good, have excessive pitch marks.
Course was crowded on the day we played.
Course was crowded on the day we played. Players were twosomes, threesomes and foursomes. Groups were using a combination of pull carts and riding carts.
Beautiful lush wooded course with well kept greens.
Loved every inch of the course. The staff was very helpful.
Best Shape I've Seen This Course In
The course is in great shape. Fairways and greens are in beautiful condition. Greens were fast in spite of all the rain we had.
