Done a good job making this a better course. Still very slow play though. Maybe add some time in between tee times... I would recommend the course but not if your in a rush to get 18 in
Great Course
The course itself is great...good variety of long holes and quirky holes...some holes are created for long drives and others for well placed shots and some strategic play. The course definitely gets easier the second time as their are a few blind shots to elevated greens and doglegs that aren't very obvious. Definitely keep an eye on the course layout on the scorecard. Fast greens that were challenging to read.
The course was in good shape other than the bunkers. They were dirt filled with rocks, no sand. The staff was nice and helpful and pace of play wasn't an issue for us due to an early tee time. When we finished in about 4hrs, the first tee box was backed up by 2 or 3 groups. Expensive on the weekends, but a fair price for a weekday round on a good course.
If you like wasting your time, Beaver Brook is for you!
The front nine took 3 hours so we stopped. I don't think you need to know more.
Great Option for a good round.
Course was in good condition except for aerated teeboxes. Staff is super friendly, even letting us drive carts to parking lot after round. Course is very well laid out, a few hidden/elevated greens....plays short so we played from the tips...tough to reach any of the par 5's in two but a very fair course.
Fix the sand traps
I like this course. It’s challenging and it eats up balls. They seem to vanish
My main complaint is the sand traps. They haven’t been groomed in years. At least add sand instead of a hard rocky surface
Awful Greens
This is one of the really good courses in the area. Greens were THICK !
Aeration was probably done a month ago. Pro Shop needs to inform players about the conditions .They were not mowed at all. Foursome ahead of us were extremely slow.
We skipped the hole. Was wide open for 5 holes. Then again another foursome was very slow.Rangers just drive by.
Otherwise the course is in good shape.
Aerated greens
Greens aerated and that was not disclosed. The green fee did not reflect aerated greens. It should have been discounted to reflect the conditions.
Disappointment / Beware
Booked the round through Golf Now. The course description did not include an aeration alert. Not sure who is responsible for reporting conditions so that is why these reviews are important. The greens were pockmarked and as sandy as the Belmar beaches. If I had known this I would not have played here for free. The rest of course is fine. Please be up front with your customers!
Great Bang for the Buck!
My girlfriend and I decided to play a late round of Golf and chose Beaver Brook CC. We arrived early and checked in at the Pro Shop where we were greeted by a very friendly staff member. Since it was early in the season the greens we’re plugged but otherwise the course was in great condition for the beginning of the season. We will definitely be back here again. The only downfall is there is no driving range to warm up.
Great day of golf
Course was awesome, . Pace was good, 4 hrs and 10 mins for 18 without waiting at all. Greens were just aerated so they were a little slow. But so are everyone else’s. All in all it was a great day.
Beaver Brook CC second time
This was my second round at Beaver Brook Country Club and I am still waiting for the greens to grow in. I know that we haven’t had the best of winters in NJ, but I have played at other courses with better greens, so I will give BBCC another shot but that won’t be until May when the course has had enough time to grow in.
Other than the greens, I love the layout and feel that it provides a stern challenge from the Gold tees at 6600 yards.
Rainy Preseason Round
Rainy and cold out the day my buddies and I played, but we had to get out to play. We were pleasantly surprised by the course; not too long, but some has some interestingly laid out holes. Will play again this spring and summer !
It's Winter
The course was wet but OK. The pace of play was slow as it got backed up rather quickly since it was cart path only. Left after 12 holes.
First time at Beaver Brook CC
I driven past the sign for the community a number of times heading to other golf courses but never knew there was a golf course up the hill until I saw it online.
The course layout is great and it literally forces you to use different clubs off of the tee. There are some nice elevation changes and overall I think it’s a good course to walk. The greens have not healed and grown in yet from when they were aerated late last season, so they were a little bumpy, but that’s because of the crazy weather we have had.
Overall I felt it was a very nice course with really nice pro shop staff and I look forward to coming back in the spring time to play it again.
