Excellent
I really enjoy this course! Always in phenomenal shape. Interesting holes that are top notch condition. Classic golf course. Can't beat the prices! Do your self a favor and play this course!
Very accessible location
Happened to play on a Friday just before a thunderstorm rolled in and was able to get 13 holes in. We had the course to ourselves, probably due to impending storms, but it was in great condition, and it's a hilly course. So putting it the fairway doesn't always guaranty you'll stay there. Some greens are very difficult due to the slope.
Can't beat this for the price in Central NJ easy to get to off rt 78
great day
course was in awesome shape. There was a really slow group a couple groups in front of us and the ranger handled it very well. Got us played through without a hassle. The girl inside gave me a sand wedge when I laughed about not having one. nice course, great people. and it was only 31 bucks on GolfNow! sweet!
Good, challenging course, tight layout and challenging greens.
Only c/o was had to ride on path only. By back 9, could easily have been right angle.
Sliooowwwww
Pace of play ruined round!!!
Out of touch foursome two groups ahead with a twosome between us played the entire back nine with a two hole gap ahead of them and never once offered the trailing group an opportunity to play through, even with three groups on half the holes. No rangers on course but more disturbing, at the turn the starter didn't do anything or apologize for the wait with three groups waiting to play on and they cut down trees throughout to speed play which did nothing but scrape the character out of the target style short course.
Yes very convenient for Kate booking but be wary because walking kill the pace and members are afforded priority and the ability to hit off the back nine which also complicates the slow play! Maybe my last time but I'll never again play on a weekend!
Getting better
Since beaver turned public the course is in the best shape it has been. Round was great greens were fast, enjoyed the round.
Great Deal!
$29 for seniors to ride. Course is in great shape and greens are quick. Must keep it in the fairway for par.
Beaver Brook Sunday June 11th
The course for the most part is in very good condition. The exception being the sand traps which need work and sand. Had to hit out of hard packed mud in one trap. Beware of the greens as they are very fast. Carts need to be upgraded as they have seen their days. Was surprised at the price at $79.00 which is a $20.00 jump over the full weekend rate charged last year. This is not a $79.00 course. For an extra $10.00, you can play Architechs. Staff is very friendly.
A beautiful course
I played BB during the week on a slightly windy day and the narrow fairways made it quite a challeng. My only criticism is that unless you are familiar with the course, you could get lost from time to time. We played with one person who had played the course many times before and I had played it once. There were a few situations where we were happy to have an experienced navigator.
Could have been a great day
Course was in good shape however, pace of play was way too slow. There was 2 threesomes in front of us...they knew each others and they waited for each other at every hole. It took 5 hours to play 18 holes and the course was moderately busy. Very difficult to keep a tempo under these conditions and we did not see the ranger once...On the positive side of things, layout is nice and the staff were all very nice and courteous. Since it was my first time, the starter took the time to explain to me the general layout of the track. All in all, this could have been a great golf day but the 2 threesome in front of us spoiled the whole thing...
Beaver Brook Is On The Upswing
I rarely take the time to write reviews, but after living in Beaver Brook for the last 10 years and playing at least a round or two every year at the course I'm blown away by the improvement in the conditions. 5+ years ago this course was in terrible shape. Everything. Each year it's gotten better, but this year the course is in the best shape yet.
Nice Course, Difficult Greens, Average Difficulty
Excellent customer service (really liked the Pro Shop, polite nice service at the 9th hold). Greens very tricky (rolling hill type, some terraces). Fairways in average condition, very difficult to make par on the tough holes. Most holes straight up - driver, chip, two putts
One You'll Remember
I've played this course a number of times and never get tired of it. The course was in very good condition and the greens were true, but extremely fast. Every hole has it's own set of challenges, hills and valleys. This course rewards good play but bad shots can really add up and cost you a good round. The only thing I would improve right now are the sand traps - they were hard and needed some maintenance to bring them into playing condition. Overall, I would highly recommend Beaver Brook to any golfer, particularly those that want a test of their golfing skills.
needs some improvements
i have played this course before but forgot some of the holes. the worst part were the sand traps. if they put some $$ into fixing them, and kept the greens nice, it really would not be a bad course.
Great layout
It played great. Many holes are wide open. Errant shots will get you in trouble but are easy to recover from. Once you've played it a couple times you know what to avoid and what to aim at. They are cutting out a lot of trees and shrubs (4/19/17) around the tees and greens but it doesn't interfere with play. Great price for a great round.
Surprise airration
Did not note on GolfNow that the greens were airrated mon, ties, weds of this week. Would have never played as the greens were impossible to putt
Course was in good shape. Recently aerated so the usual temporary hiccups with that but will improve soon. Greens were great. Quite fast and true (apart from aeration holes) Bunkers not good - need sand - but this is expensive so not sure when/if that will happen. Overall the usual good value and very enjoyable course.
