About
Delaware Golf Club sprawls across rolling countryside that lends an idyllic and secluded setting. Donald Ross designed the original nine holes in 1922 and they were later joined by a second nine designed by Michael Hurzdan in 1998. The layout meanders through wooded valleys and ravines. The rolling fairways are fairly wide but they are lined with mature trees and bunkers heavily guard the small, undulating greens. There are also water hazards that come into play on a number of holes. Delaware Golf Club's second hole is notably challenging, it is arguably the toughest hole on the front nine. This par-4 requires not only accuracy in order to avoid the ravine on the left but also distance to carry the lake and remain in the angled fairway. Golfers will be faced with one of the most difficult putts on the golf course if their approach finds the wrong side of the green.

Need an on-course Ranger
Expected slow play on Father's Day. Front 9 was decent pace; turned in 2 hours and 15 minutes. Then on 11 tee we came to a stop and waited and waited to tee off, and took about 30 minutes for one hole! The guys ahead apologized and said they were waiting on every shot. On 12, same delay. So after spending an hour to play 11 and 12, on 13 we drove past the group ahead of us and found a foursome that looked like two couples on 13 green. We passed them and went to 14 tee. We played 14 through 18 without anyone on those 4 holes which told us that the group we passed on 13 had four open holes ahead of them and did not know to let others play through. On weekends and holidays, I think courses need a ranger to watch for groups that don't know what they are doing. We finished the last 4 holes in less than an hour because there was nobody on the rest of the back 9 - I feel sorry for all the groups that got stock behind the group we passed.

Great course, but...
I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing Delaware GC. Great course layout, challenging, excellent greens, beautiful plot of land.
BUT...
I checked in as a pre-paid round through their website. No receipt or anything to give the starter. Checked in with starter to be paired up with group, but was barked at to sit there and wait for him to get to me. Was more interested in talking to members.
Food and beverage hadn't opened up yet at the time I checked in for my tee time at 9:30am, so nothing was offered until the turn.
I loved the golf, but was left feeling like the staff was annoyed with me even being there.

Lot of money for a 7 hour round
Title says it all - showed up on time and approached a tee box with about 10 people waiting to tee off

Excellent Course!!
This was an exciting and fun course to play at. The greens where in great condition and the scenery was amazing. It was very challenging to play. If you're ever in the Dublin/Columbus, Ohio area, you should play this course...you will not be disappointed!

Slow Pace
We teed off after the rain and the group ahead of us was absolutely clueless on how to play golf. About the 11th hole the ranger finally asked us how the pace of play was and we told him, from that point on we didn’t have to wait on them but a ranger keeping the pace before that would have been much nicer. Played here 50+ times and never dealt with it before so just a one off but very annoying for the 1st time out this year.

Interesting track
Front 9 is a new edition and the back 9 is the classic Donald Ross design. Boy, could you tell the difference in difficulty! Felt like we played two different courses which was a lot of fun. Early season course conditions (unmowed tee boxes) but for the rainy weather the course overall was in good shape. Greens were rolling well. Would like to come back when the course is at top shape!
