Safari Golf Club

About
Located adjacent to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Safari Golf Club was carefully carved from mature forests. This tight course is not particularly long, but it has a varied design that appeals to a number of different tastes and skill levels. The layout features tree-lined fairways and water hazards on several holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking treacherously beside the greens. The golf course starts off with a challenging par 4 that features a dramatic drop from the tee to the green. It finishes with two demanding par 4s as well. The 17th and 18th holes both feature a slew of challenges including rolling, tree-lined fairways and tricky stream crossings. Although it presents a formidable test on some holes, Safari Golf Club's hazards are straightforward with no surprises.

I played on this course for the first time
It was cold, so the start time was 11 o'clock.
Most of the courses were straight, but No. 18 was difficult.
I played from the back tee, but it didn't turn on two.
Today's score was 44-44.
I want to challenge again.
Same ole same ole
Nothing special aside from the first hole and the last three. Extra $10 cart fee during Covid was a bit silly and staff was pretty meh. Enjoyed my round with friends, but will mostly stick to other courses.
The little man working the front desk was rude when my cousin and I tried to check in for a round for a “frost delay”. We don’t often play in these cold conditions so we didn’t think anything of the frost. As we tried to check in the little man say, “well you can’t because we are obviously on a frost delay”. We remained patient and were understanding of the frost delay. We also were forced to play in a foursome which I understand at busy times but even though the course was plenty spaced out they told us if we wanted to play as a twosome we had to pay for the other two slots as well. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Hospitality and customer service could use some work from multiple employees. Nice course though.
This course is in great condition right now!
I have been playing golf on Safari for years and have never seen it in this good of shape! At just $35 on a Friday it is the best value anywhere near Dublin!
The course was in nice shape. Also has a interesting layout.
The course was well maintained with a interesting layout.Played on the weekend which was very busy and the play was extremely slow. There isn’t to many more nice golfing weekends left this this year and the scenery was beautiful so the slow play didn’t really bother us too much.Nice staff in the pro shop, starters, and food cart girl.A good day!

Great course
Great course. Fairways are pretty close to each other so have to watch out for random drives entering fairway. Other than that it was an awesome golf course!
Fantastic condition
This course is in great shape. Loved the challenging final hole and appreciate the pace of play.
Well kept and very challenging
Top 5 in my book for public course
Excellent course with open driving range
This is one of the finest public courses in central Ohio. Also, they have one of the last remaining driving ranges available for public practice. While others have been plowed under for massive real estate development or taken away by course management companies, IE OSU, Safari has held fast. Excellent choice for practice and play.
Course by the Zoo
Course was in great shape (tee boxes, fairways, & greens) no bad spots anywhere. Was a little wet from the rain the last few days. If your tee shot is off the fairway it’s going to be in thick grass good luck with that one. Greens had just been rolled so they were fast and true. The course layout is just okay, holes are mainly straight and run back and forth from each other. It is fairly quiet, except for the seals hollowing from the zoo or the deer on the course. Holes 17, & 18 are the prettiest holes on the course very nice. Ranger was on the course and stopped and asked about our round, starter also asked about our round after we got in. Was nice that both took time to make for a great day.
Great first experience - considering covid requirements
Course was in relatively good shape. Bunkers well maintained as well as greens, much better than many other public courses in the Columbus area this summer.
Layout for holes 2-16 weren’t anything extraordinary but definitely some challenging holes. 1, 17 &18 were more unique and I know parts of the course were redesigned and I suspect these are the newer holes?
Good experience and value given what we paid... staff was great and availability of food/bev at clubhouse and bev cart for entire round late weekend round was appreciated.
