Jamaica Run Golf Club
About
Jamaica Run Golf Club offers one of the most challenging layouts in the Miami Valley. The difficult greens provide most of the trouble. They are small and hard to hit and on many holes they are elevated above the fairway, making it hard to play a run-up shot. The bentgrass fairways are spacious and thankfully more forgiving, but they are bordered by thick rough. Water hazards come into play on several holes. There is even one hole that crosses the meandering creek that runs through the golf course twice. The par-5 18th provides a memorable finish, requiring a tee shot past a large pond to a fairway that sits well below the pond. Finding the right club to use and a good spot to hit are nearly impossible.

Not worth the price
Would never play here again! Course looks like it hasn't been kept up in years. The tee boxes were muddy and chunky and the greens were just as bad.
Disappointed
Pro shop has barely anything to sell
Attendant was not friendly or informative
Golf course is burned out. Somewhat understandable given the lack of rain but they need to water.
Big clubhouse but concessions are outside under a tent. Very few items to eat and no condiments.
Jamaica Run
The course layout is pretty straightforward but still manages to kick my butt every time. We got stuck behind a slow group in front of us that wouldn't let us play through, so it would have been nice had there been a few rangers out there to maintain pace of play. Also would be nice if they had better snacks and food for the turn, but still always really enjoy playing here!
Don’t waste your time
The greens are trash, fairways are meh… not worth the time playing here
Solid course
Staff was great. Read many reviews saying staff was rude and I didn't not experience that personally. Course was decent for how dry it has been lately. Good amount of dead grass though.
Sub par attitudes and over priced
Upon arrival the staff seemed very inconvenienced that I needed to add a golfer (and there was an opening in our group). Checking in at the first tee was rushed and were told to just go ahead of the group in front of us to not slow down play.
After finishing the round I was loading my clubs in my car when I was approached by the group we were told to skip and they informed us the “ranger” asked them why I’d bring my wife out on a Saturday morning, we were just going to slow the course down and inconvenience everyone…
I wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone, paying over $40 just to putt on BROWN greens and tee boxes that were tore up worse than a battlefield that was just bombed.
Greens
Greens weren't as good as they use to be. And golf cart needed brake fixed and they didn't let me switch out before round, and it was bothersome all day. Some cart paths needed serious repairs, but fairways were great.
Not worth it anymore
I’ve played this course several times but I don’t think I will ever go back. We teed off 20 minutes late and took almost 3 hours to complete 9 holes on a Sunday at 10am. A foursome 3 groups ahead was incredibly slow. On several holes, there were 3 foursome waiting to play. Nothing was done to speed them up or have groups play through by the ranger. Course was in bad shape, greens were super slow. We skipped to holes to finish in 5 hours. Really bad experience.
What did I just play on?
I have heard great things about this course from friends but i unfortunately did not see the hype.
A quick breakdown:
Golf carts are outdated, dandelions everywhere making it impossible to find balls, the ground was unbelievably dry which make it nearly impossible to put tees down, and the grass was very high on a lot of the roughs/leading the sides of the greens.
Staff was friendly, I certainly didn’t feel like an inconvenience or anything like I have felt at other courses before.
The holes were actually really fun, but the grass was all weeds and beyond dry, if you were to hit just one ball off the fairway kiss it goodbye. There’s half a dozen supersoft taylormade inks somewhere in the back 9 if anyone wants them that I sent straight into the heart of a dandelion army lol.
For the price point this golf course needs some serious upgrades, beat up cart paths, beat up parking lot, dry ground everywhere, old golf carts, and no directions to lead you to each hole (granted, I might be spoiled from the grizzly in mason on that note)
Personally I wouldn’t have paid more than $20 max from what I saw today. Maybe one day I’ll find myself back here though because like I said, the holes were fun to play, everything else just felt terrible, almost like the golf course was abandoned.
Horrible
Paid for 18 left before finishing front 9 no food/drinks, had to play from the “winter tees” which was literally just a spot picked out in the middle of the fairway!
