Jamaica Run Golf Club
About
Jamaica Run Golf Club offers one of the most challenging layouts in the Miami Valley. The difficult greens provide most of the trouble. They are small and hard to hit and on many holes they are elevated above the fairway, making it hard to play a run-up shot. The bentgrass fairways are spacious and thankfully more forgiving, but they are bordered by thick rough. Water hazards come into play on several holes. There is even one hole that crosses the meandering creek that runs through the golf course twice. The par-5 18th provides a memorable finish, requiring a tee shot past a large pond to a fairway that sits well below the pond. Finding the right club to use and a good spot to hit are nearly impossible.

it needs time
it needs ground keeper work for sure needs to be vlosed for a month to get it healthy again
A SHAME
This course is in TERRIBLE shape!! Looks like it's on it's last leg! Greens are virtually unputtable! Not sure when they were last mowed.. Have always liked the layout but it is no longer worth the time and effort to play there. Staff is friendly. Course is pitiful!!
Don't waste your time
Unless your a complete hack and just need a cheap course to practice and play, dont come here.
Absolute joke of a golf course. Tee boxes and fairways are terrible. Look more like a goat pasture. And the greens... ive never seen worse greens in my life. 1/2-3/4 of the greens are dead, brown/black crusty muddy. If I go back I'll add some photos to this. The golf carts barely work. Course needs new management. The woman that runs it now has no idea what she is doing and ruined it more. I wouldn't pay $10 to play here.
If the price is right
The price was right but the course needs to much work to repair the greens, fairways and tee boxes. You almost need a hammer to put the trees in the ground.
They do not put any money into this course at all! The carts have silver tape holding them together.
Don't waste your money.
The worst condition of any course I have ever played. Clearly they aren't investing in it. There's not enough of a discount to make this course worth playing.
Horrible state
The course in in extremely poor state. The "greens" are the worst I have seen anywhere in 20 years. In general the course is neglected. The bunkers are not really bunkers. This looks like a business that is on its last legs and is about to go under.
Wow
Never seen any course in this bad shape. We play every week and have for decades. We have played here several times. It's over 1 hour away so we only play it once or twice a year. They have lost most all of the greens. One was completely roped off and temp green in fairway. Other greens had piles of straw and fertilizer you had to putt through. Other parts had no grass at all. It is almost not playable. Sand traps had sand but many also had grass growing. Fairways were decent. Carts all need replaced. The One we had had no windshield and the seats were covered with removable covers. Choke would not work and it literally took 30 seconds for the cart to move when you hit the peddle. Many courses in the area are having issues this year but this course probably should not be open. I hope they find the right staffto get this place back together.
DON'T DO IT!
I have never seen a course in this state of disrepair. There's no discount that will make you feel that you didn't waste your time and money. Knowing that I paid to play here makes me feel ill.
Don't waste your time or money
If there was such a thing as a zero rating this course would have been given it.
No one in the club house said anything about how bad the conditions were. It was so bad me and my playing partners will Never be back.
I've been playing golf for 50 years and this is the worst condition golf course I have ever played.
The bad part is we had to drive an hour from the Cincinnati area.
The worst greens of all time
Terrible greens and tee boxes. Way too expensive for the quality
Don’t play this course
This was the worst course I’ve played the greens were 50% dirt there was more crab grass than anything. The pace of play was horrible. I will never play this course again and would recommend no one does. Waste of money
This place sucks
Greens are horrid and tee boxes are so hard you can hardly get a tee in the ground. The fairways are bad, not worth the money.
Goat Ranch
Thankfully we got a great deal on Golf Now to play this course. First off I would like to say the staff was excellent and super nice. The food and drinks were great but as far as the course, I’d never go back. The crabgrass has over taken the course and you’d have better luck putting across a gravel driveway. The greens were so burnt and dry it really wasn’t even playable! Golf Now should not even have this course listed!!!
First Time and Probably Last
Course layout was fine, holes were great for beginners. Course conditions were absolutely horrible. Crabgrass has overtaken the Tee Boxes and the Tee Boxes were as hard as concrete. All of the front 9 greens were very dry and in horrible conditions. None of them rolled true with many showing cracks as a result of no water. I don’t ever like to leave bad reviews but I just felt everything was very neglected and not worth the price.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Had some family in town and decided to take them to Jamaica Run because it had been a while since I have played it. Tee boxes were overgrown, greens had dirt areas with dried moss on it like puddles had been sitting there and then dried out. Greens are not taken care of and it showed. It was a goat track. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PLAYING THIS COURSE EVER!
Discount Play for Medium Pay
I played many times over the few years and watched it slowly decline. The last time playing will be my final until things turn around. It’s just not worth $50. All of the greens are infected with what seems to be cyanobacteria making them black, flaking, and crunchy when dry. You won’t putt and enjoy it. Most of the course has slowly been taken over from the standard Kentucky blue and fescue to a very broad leaf invasive grass and crab grass that will grab your club and stop or change your contact at every shot that matters. There’s a reason golf courses try to maintain only fescue or Kentucky Bluegrass. It’s the gold standard for golf clubs making contact and a divot that can be easily repaired. Common field grass was incredibly frustrating to hit out of. The course needs an injection of capital and owners that care about course management. Drop the fee to $30 like the discount course it is and limit the tee times to make time for a massive rehab that is needed. If you can’t maintain fairway bunkers, get rid of them like all the other courses are doing. Invest in irrigation, weed control, seeding, and aeration and people will line up to pay over $50 per round. It’s sad to see and I hope it can be turned around.
Unplayable
Not worth going, maybe would pay $5.
The greens were not playable.
