Hickory Grove Golf Course

This course was very poor. If you remember deer lake, well this is the new deer lake! The fairways were covered with craters, on hole 6 there was a guy there burning leaves which created a huge smoke cloud all over the course. On hole 11 a guy drove a front end loader through the tee box to and unknown location. The course needs a lot of work. If I paid more than $8 I would have far more disappointed. On a positive note the girl working there was very nice.

Course punched the frt 9 greens will take some time to recover.

Had noon tee time but when I arrived at 1130 was told they had golf tournament and I would not be able to tee of until after 3pm. Thankfully, they gave me a refund so I went and played another course in the area.

A bit off the beaten path, a nice golf course a bit east of cleveland. Had a good deal. Greens were pretty tough. Overall, an enjoyable time.

We did 18 in just over 3 hours...every round should be like that!
Great deal on golf AND on beverages as well! Oh we'll be back for sure.

The course was OK on this day considering all the rain and following a big outing. balls did plug once in a while and all the carts from the outing did their damage but the course faired well for the conditions it had been subjected to.

I do not normally write reveiws but I had to for this course. I have played eleven different coures this year and this is by far the worst maintained course I have been to in the last two years.
Fairways with crabgrass branches all over in the rough. Even at a discount rate I will not Return.

We really enjoyed the course itself (minus a few holes that lacked maintenance, but considering it's been raining quite hard lately that's forgivable). The staff was rather rude though (shouting at their dog while we were trying to tee off, acting as if we were unwelcome when ordering lunch in the clubhouse...or anytime we had to interact with them). I would not recommend this course because of the staff. If you can handle being treated rather rudely then by all means the course is more than fun, but if you are bothered by such behaviour I would advise you to avoid this course.

Also, the "wear a collard shirt and proper golf attire" can apparently be ignored as I swear Jethro Tull (and a few of his closest friends) were all around us. Dress comfortably and casually or else you'll be WAY overdressed.

Like this course because it's straight forward with minimal hazards. Great for working on your basic game.
