About
Fox Hollow Golf Course in Somerville sprawls across acres of rolling woodlands, offering dramatic elevation changes throughout the par-70 layout. Designed by local designer Hal Purdy, the abundant trees and hilly terrain have been deftly incorporated into the course. Originally built in 1967, the golf course was completely redesigned in 2000 to make it more challenging while at the same time improving its playability. Since its renovation, it has garnered a local following but it is still one of the better kept secrets of Somerset County, making it likely that golfers will be able to play the golf course regardless of the day or time. In addition to the course, there is also a practice facility with a grass driving range, a bunkered practice green, and an expansive putting green. One reason Fox Hollow G.C. is a popular choice, besides the enjoyable layout, is the affordability it offers.

Good find
Met a relative to play this course as it was good meeting point in central NJ. Course starts out with some very average holes then opens up into nice track with challenging layout. Greens are fast , well conditioned and roll true. The lack of rain has hurt the rough but the rest of course in good shape considering the dry conditions. Played on a Monday- grill room only open Weds- Sunday which was a little dissapointing. Got a hot deal on GN, under $100 for 2 players, played in 3.5 hours. Would reccomend this course.

Fox hollow impressive
Great layout and condition! Greens were lightning and quite a challenge! Bring lots of bug spray cuz it’s a real issue!

First time playing Fox Hollow in 2 years.Good course. Good conditions.
Vert challenging greens which ran fast.
Many elevations, particularly on the back.
It was a hot day, I asked if there were water coolers on the course to refill my
water bottle.
I was told yes.
But.
There was the stanchion for the container.
But
No container
Not an empty container.
No container.
Fun, Challenging, and Super friendly Staff
First of all, every person working there was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and they had their stuff together for sure. The course is challenging with many placement shots that challenge all golfers and force you to use all of the clubs in your bag. The greens are no joke either. So bring you A putting game.
I played a later Saturday afternoon round and it was an awesome experience. Good pace of play, fun holes, and great people. Will definitely be back and highly recommend. Especially if you can get a nice hot deal or something. But either way, worth the time and money. My only complaint would be the staff working the bar in the clubhouse and it taking me 15 minutes to get a hot dog at the turn that they first brought out on a ceramic plate. That is minimal and can easily be fixed so shouldn’t be a big deal.
Great Value and fun course
I love playing this course. It is challenging without being frustrating for a 20 handicap like me. There are a few holes that require some precision, particularly when water is in play, but overall you can be a little off target and can recover on your next shot.
The food is great and the staff is friendly. There's a good driving range and putting green. I would be a member at Fox Hollow if I lived a little closer to the course.
