About
Fox Hollow Golf Course in Somerville sprawls across acres of rolling woodlands, offering dramatic elevation changes throughout the par-70 layout. Designed by local designer Hal Purdy, the abundant trees and hilly terrain have been deftly incorporated into the course. Originally built in 1967, the golf course was completely redesigned in 2000 to make it more challenging while at the same time improving its playability. Since its renovation, it has garnered a local following but it is still one of the better kept secrets of Somerset County, making it likely that golfers will be able to play the golf course regardless of the day or time. In addition to the course, there is also a practice facility with a grass driving range, a bunkered practice green, and an expansive putting green. One reason Fox Hollow G.C. is a popular choice, besides the enjoyable layout, is the affordability it offers.

Teeoff price was right
Had played this course a few times in the past and with the teeoff price, we thought we'd give it another try. A majority of the times we played it previously it was very wet sometimes cart path only. While there are still a few areas roped off due to water, the rest of the course was in very good condition. Greens rolled nicely, the fairways seemed to be cut tight and the rough in a majority of holes was thick and took some yards of the shot. The blind shots do add a bit of adventure to the shot.
Weather was good so it made for a terrific day overall.
Fun Challenging Course
My wife and I have played this course a few times and enjoy it. The course layout is hilly and the setup places a priority on shot making. The rough is thick and can make missed fairways tough. The greens are normally in good shape although they had been aerated the week prior. This was known at the time of booking though so this is not a complaint or knock on the conditions.
Challenging but fun
Uphill, downhill, sidehill, and blind shots are all over the course. The natural hilly terrian makes for a scenic round. It's a shame the greens were being aerated, because the course was in great shape. Putting was brutal, though. Every putt skipped 3 or times on its way towards the hole. Other than that, it's a great course that would be tough to walk with all the steep inclines. That's why we have carts!
Foxy Course
Very enjoyable course. Pace of play was under 3 hours.
Pro shop personnel very pleasant. I hope to do it again soon.
Fox Hollow
Challenging course, loads of fun. I played when the weather was not the best. Cold day with hail and the course was wet. Looking forward to playing in warmer weather.
5.5 round & no one cared at all
tee time was delayed half and hour, and then the round took almost six hours on top of that.
Then when we can in with the carts after barely finishing 18 and the sun had kind of set, the staff acted like we were in the wrong for taking so long.
Won’t be going back anytime soon
A new favorite!
Got a round in on a beautiful March day. More hilly than I thought it would be, but really fun to play. Course was in great shape for this time of year. Greens were fast, and challenging. Hope to lower my score next time we’re back!
Had some food and drinks at the clubhouse and it was very good! Staff couldn’t be nicer.
Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!
February Golf
The weather was great for a day out. Course in very good shape for February, some wet spots due to snow melt. Greens were in great shape. We played here last week and after two rounds I have to say I really enjoy this course. The restaurant closed early but we bought a few beers from the pro shop and sat on the patio. Nice views of 9 green, 10 tee, and 18 green.
