About
Fox Hollow Golf Course in Somerville sprawls across acres of rolling woodlands, offering dramatic elevation changes throughout the par-70 layout. Designed by local designer Hal Purdy, the abundant trees and hilly terrain have been deftly incorporated into the course. Originally built in 1967, the golf course was completely redesigned in 2000 to make it more challenging while at the same time improving its playability. Since its renovation, it has garnered a local following but it is still one of the better kept secrets of Somerset County, making it likely that golfers will be able to play the golf course regardless of the day or time. In addition to the course, there is also a practice facility with a grass driving range, a bunkered practice green, and an expansive putting green. One reason Fox Hollow G.C. is a popular choice, besides the enjoyable layout, is the affordability it offers.

Tough greens
Course has a fun, challenging layout.t from tee to green and In very good shape. Finished the round in 4 hrs. Staff was friendly, the ranger made multiple trips around However, the greens were ridiculous. They were in good shape and fast, but at times impossible. Only about 4 greens were flat, The rest you were putting on a steep hill. A missed 5 foot Putt could slide by the hole and end up 30 feet away. Be prepared for 3 putts on most holes.

Pace of play was horrible today which is unfortunate because the course was in great shape. Didn’t see a Ranger the entire day on the course. We finally quit when we got to the 12 hole and we would of been the third group on the tee box.

Greens were in very good shape - pretty quick. Pace of place wasn't great but the ranger was doing his job pushing the group in front of us. I will def play here again.
Fun Times
Used Tee Off to do my homework before selecting this course for a client event. Focused on ratings and reviews aside from distance my guests would travel to play. Yes, we saw bugs, yes the course conditions were not prestine. However, for the money and experience (course layout, speed of play and staff experience) i would definitely come back here and highly recommend a round with friends, colleagues and clients. Although they didn't have pickles for the burger LOL the food and service afterwards was exceptional.
A Great Day
I ventured out as a single and joined two gentlemen, one of whom was Richie, a ranger for the course enjoying a day off. A very nice course with several very difficult hole and green combinations.

Bring bug spray
The course is a nice challenge with a few head scratchers...
1. Lots of gnats. Bring bug spray but no guarantee it will keep them away.
2. I did not understand some of the groupings. In front of us were a single, and 2 two somes, then groups of four. I'm not sure why the single was tossed into the middle of everything and not paired with anyone else, or the 2's were not paired together.
3. And this is an issue at the majority of courses, but the ball marks in the greens were countless. One hole I believe I repaired 15 balls marks, and only 1 was mine!
Been a long time since I played here
Been a long time since I played here and was happy to see the course was in good shape. Sure, there were a few "spots", but absolutely nothing to complain about. Greens were in good shape, fast (as I remembered), requiring accurate play to be below the hole. I have been playing a bunch of the other local courses, and this one was in much better shape than others. I will be back.
Excellent course, challenging, well kept
Rough way too high, difficulty finding balls if not in fairway or first cut. You need a caddie
Beautiful Course-Poor Pace of Play
Course is beautiful and and a bit challenging. Pace of play was poor. Our round took a little over 5 hours. Another issue, course is located around 4 miles from a local airport, so airplane noise was an issue at times. There is a restaurant onsite with good food and friendly staff. Would definitely return and hope pace of play would improve.
