The View Golf Club

I traveled to this course from out of town. I looked on golfnow, and they had a ton of tee times available (almost none of them were booked from 2pm to 6pm).

I arrived to the course to find a junior high school tournament going off on the front 9, and a seniors league teeing off on the back.

I was instructed to go to the back 9, where I came up on 2 groups from the senior league, and a third group of players not associated to the league (which I ended up joining).

It took (no exaggeration) 50 minutes to complete 2 holes, and I waited (again no exaggeration) another 10 minutes to tee off on hole 3 before deciding to pack it up and go back to the hotel (I had paid for 18 holes, and it was apparent that I wasn’t going to be able to finish even 9 holes.

Luckily the person running the pro shop saw me come back in and gave me a rain check coupon (hence the 4 stars for staff friendliness), but I don’t want to risk going back to the course again and only play a couple holes.

In addition, they are doing major renovations to the property, and there are dirt piles and construction equipment all over the course.

All in all, I would maybe wait a while to come to this course for the renovations to be complete unless you live very close in the area. Also don’t trust their golfnow tee times as they don’t reflect the reality of who is on the course (they don’t update their tee times).

Wouldn’t recommend to a friend.

It’s a decent course with some angulations in the layout which I like. It’s out in the sticks and an old school course but great value for the money. Outdated carts but they do great with what they have. Making renovations to the finishing hole(s). Looking forward to that next year

This is a nice course to play. Staff is super friendly. The course is undergoing construction creating a new course layout with tons of new amenities and events. What is amazing is the construction causes no issues for play at all, I can't wait until everything is finshed. This course is already wonderful, can't wait. I seriously encourage golfers of all levels to play this course!

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. My son plays for Fairfield Christian Academy and this is their home course. I really like the new owners who are working hard. Needs some work on the fairways, but they are in progress. The layout is so beautiful looking out from the putting greens and clubhouse. They really appreciate youth golf and making a new layout. It’s a great place to play.

Valley View has excellent greens with uniform speed and several excellent views of the surrounding countryside. I would play it again, but a well needed course redo is already underway and my thoughts it does not measure up to a daily desire to play were perhaps premature.

The plans for the redesign and building of a winery are impressive. Worth another crack at it.

Over priced for course conditions. Fairways we’re tall, some greens need major work (dead and patchy)

Good course with (my opinion) too many blind shots. The greens are very firm. But a fun course.

Course always challenging to play. Fairways were had some spots that were brown due to dryness. Greens were great. Fun to play.

This is a great course for anyone who loves to golf. The layout is moderate with some challenges. The staff is always friendly and the course is always in great shape. I will always come back to play here!

Don't expect bent grass fairways, but Valley View is a picturesque course and, in general, the course was in pretty decent shape. However, the greens must be called out as being the most cement-like I may have ever played on. I didn't leave a single ball mark in a green all day. Lofty wedge shots would bounce 6 feet off the green into the air then roll 30 feet off the back. This made them almost unplayable... at least very unpleasant to accommodate.
