The Players Club at Foxfire Golf Club
About
Foxfire Golf Club boasts 36 holes of championship golf, the Foxfire Course and the Players Club Course. The Players Club was added in 1993.The layout is a deft combination of traditional American golf and traditional British links design that provides the perfect complement to the original. The golf course is the more challenging of the two, but not by much. The layout features narrow fairways lined with trees and water hazards on eight holes. There are three particularly tricky carries over water. Strategically placed bunkers and contoured mounding also treacherously lurk by the greensides. The par-4 16th hole is the course's signature. This demanding hole plays uphill through trees to a green that is guarded by five bunkers. The most memorable hole though, might be the par-5 eighth, which features the longest sand bunker in the Midwest.

Player's Club is back!
The course had deteriorated significantly in previous years, but has now been restored to its former glory. Great condition, including the bunkers. Pace of play about 4 1/2 hours, which is not bad for a course as challenging as this one. Highly recommend.
Very difficult but very nice.
Players has always been one of the most difficult courses in the area but it’s very nice and definitely a must play.
Who Knew....
Total hidden jem. A little out of the way but super worth it! I highly recommend the chicken salad at the turn!! Sand traps are super compacted and there was some GUR.
Overall....considering a membership!!
A Diamond in the Rough!!!
An unbelievable course that sits just South of major metropolitan Columbus Ohio on State Rte 104. The Player's at Foxfire is a true gem. They have recently made renovations to increase the challenge golfers yearn for, yet subtle to the eye with prestine fairways, million dollar houses and well manicured greens.
The Player's offer 5 different tee boxes that acclimate every golfer's imagination and attend to every golfer's skill level.
I am a professional golfer and golf director from Myrtle Beach, SC and by far, this course could be valued at $125 per round. I make it a priority every time I'm up from the South to stop by and let my fiancee experience the fabulous ammenities I've enjoyed. Foxfire keeps their rates favorable to allow any willing player to experience ambiance at a low cost.
The staff, including Miss Barbara, are extremely professional and courteous. They have modified their main building, which includes an amazing deck giving it a warm plantation style view over a peaceful residential development. It is truly a wonderful 19th Hole!!!
If ever you are in Southern Columbus and a golfer looking for a true challenge, you must drop by The Player's!!! They do have a very easy website to maneuver thru for tee times, or you can always call to set up your tee times with the pleasant staff.
Continues to impress
For those who may have written off this course a few years back, it has been transformed. The conditions of the course are great and they have sunk a lot of money into improvements. The only complaint I have is the parking lot which is still gravel and parking is a bit haphazard. Other than that, it's definitely worth a few rounds each summer!
The best shape this course has ever been!
I am blown away at the maintenance on the course! The greens and tee boxes have never looked this good! All the bunkers are edged perfectly and the sand is consistent, smooth and soft! The only thing the course needs are some repair areas to the cart path. I’m so impressed at the work of their new superintendent, a huge step up for local golf!
Good Course
Nice, tricky course with a great halfway house. Played on Mother’s Day and the course was pretty open. Had a good time.
Course in good shape but no water anywhere to drink
It's a great course it's very challenging . But...For a course that has $59 tee times ( luckily we had a hot deal but it was still $34 and $43 to play.) I could not believe there was no way to acquire any extra water once you leave the clubhouse. The halfway house at # 8 was closed so there was literally only one porta potty on the whole course and no water available nor food or drink.
If they had warned us to take extra waters or snacks etc when we left the clubhouse it would have helped ,but they should have had someone drive around with bottles of water for purchase or just to give out. There was probably not more than 25 people on the course on a Monday morning, so it would not have been that big of a cost to come around with water bottles. Fortunately it was only about 78° it could have been a lot worse.
Great course. V challenging
The Player’s Club is a great course, very challenging. It’s a bit of a drive to get there, but worth it on occasion. Midweek, it had minimal traffic.
They are working on the bunkers rn, which is why I give the course conditions one less star.
Challenging Course
Fun day. Missing yardage markings and ball washers on back 9. Otherwise in good shape. Cheers!
Challenging Course
Greens in good shape. Water in play on many holes. Deep difficult sand traps. Lots of fun! Cart paths need serious attention with potholes and water to navigate. Cheers.
great round
sunday 8.15am tee time, really fun course, links, woods, and water. not an easy course but really enjoyable. i was a single paired with another single who was a pleasure to play with. we finished under 4 hours, if youre in the area i would highly recommend playing it,
Conflicting
Staff was extremely "boomer Ohio"; very gruff and unwelcoming.
The woman who checked us in opened with a very annoyed "you here to golf or what?!"
Carts and cart paths are atrocious. There were quite a few hills, on the cart path, I was unsure our cart could even climb.
That all being said, majority of the course was in good condition and made for a challenging but fun day.
