The Players Club at Foxfire Golf Club
About
Foxfire Golf Club boasts 36 holes of championship golf, the Foxfire Course and the Players Club Course. The Players Club was added in 1993.The layout is a deft combination of traditional American golf and traditional British links design that provides the perfect complement to the original. The golf course is the more challenging of the two, but not by much. The layout features narrow fairways lined with trees and water hazards on eight holes. There are three particularly tricky carries over water. Strategically placed bunkers and contoured mounding also treacherously lurk by the greensides. The par-4 16th hole is the course's signature. This demanding hole plays uphill through trees to a green that is guarded by five bunkers. The most memorable hole though, might be the par-5 eighth, which features the longest sand bunker in the Midwest.

Worth the trip from Columbus
Very nice layout, greens are large and undulated so knowledge of pin placement is crucial. A lot of options off the tees. Really enjoyed the whole round
Good course with interesting holes
I like Foxfiee because each hole feels different. There are clearly different sections of the course that offere different challenges. There are several risk/reward holes that give the average player chances. I look forward to them getting the driving range back and working on the fairway bunkers
Players club never disappoints
Played with a good friend for on a cool windy May Day. We basically had the course to our self. Some of the greens were having a little distress, but mostly good. Workers were working hard on the traps. Players Club has possibly the three hardest holes (14, 15 & 16) of any public courses in central Ohio. I love the layout…
Great course. Pace of play lacking
Pace of play was brutal today. Saw a couple Marshall’s riding around that apparently didn’t notice it either. Will be back because it is a great course just hope to not get stuck behind the slows again
Good value
Course was in great condition. Challenging for most, but still manageable for a novice like me. Pace of play was a little rough. Groups stacked up and some of the people didn’t understand etiquette of letting others play through. With the slow pace, a drink cart would be nice.
Sad
6 hour round on a Sunday with no rangers makes it hard to give Players Club a good review. Greens are solid and you can tell they started working on some bunkers but this place is a far cry from what it once was
Bunkers need attention
Many bunkers in rough conditions.. Patches of grass growing in some, and sand not well kept in others. Nice course outside of the situation with the bunkers.
Lost and Found
I have played this course a few times and always thoroughly enjoy it. On this particular trip I left my new Bushnell ranger finder on the golf cart and didn’t realize it until hours after i got home. When I called Charlie answered the phone and quickly went to check my cart I called back and he found it and held it for me. I’m very grateful for his promptness and the entire staff in general.
Love Layout, improvements on progress
I really love the layout of this course. And I know they are working on the range and course to make improvements after selling the other 18. I just wish the greens appeared a little more cared for. Lots of bad spots, small weeds on many of the greens. Love the different mines you can take on some holes, the variation in open and tifht driving holes. Will play again.
Nice course for the time of year.
I enjoyed this course. With it just being the beginning of spring this course is better than expected due to Ohio weather. Course layout is nice, making it playable for all types of golfers. The pace of play was perfect. I joined a threesome and had a blast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I will be back again...
Still needs work
Been playing here for years and am still disappointed. Early season yes, but greens are in bad shape with ball marks, no rangers on course to maintain pace, no amenities to speak of, no sand in the bunkers - anywhere. Grass over growing bunkers, carts stored uncovered and dirty and moldy - at least make an effort.... Even the “new” carts are a mess already. I recall the first few years the Players Club was open, it was spectacular and worthy of play, now it just feels like another muni waiting to be bought for condos.
Still needs more work
Even after the Foxfire course was sold off to build homes, there hasn’t been much done to improve the Players Club course. I’ll grant that it is still very early in the season and Covid had a large impact on 2020 but carts still are stored uncovered, are generally dirty, and rain covers are moldy. Greens still are rough because of ball marks and fairway bunkers have no sand in them. Hoping for better conditions as the weather improves but skeptically optimistic about where it will go this season.
enjoyed our round
First time playing FF and we enjoyed the round... Admittedly, it was very early in the season, so the course was still recovering from winter. The staff treated us warmly and I can see coming back after the season has matured and they've had a chance to work on the course.
Great Course Condition for December Golf
The best course layout across all public options in the greater Columbus area. Each hole is unique bringing its own fun challenges requiring you to develop a strategy before your tee shot. Course was in great condition for an abnormally warm day in mid-December. Easily one of the best public courses in Columbus area.
December to Remember
64 degrees in December on a sunny day with a nice pace of play and a cold beer in hand. I love this course
Yikes!
Did not get to play because there seemed to be a total disregard for tee times. There were 8 carts full of golfers ahead of us on the 1st tee when we reported for our 1:26 tee time. Complete waist of our 40 minute drive from Powell. Staff was very pleasant but no feel
for how to manage the pace of place. will not ever go back.
