Wedgwood Country Club
About
Wedgewood Country Club in Turnersville is one of the most popular public golf courses in the Tri-State area. It offers an upscale atmosphere with a traditional layout that pays homage to Philadelphia's most prestigious and renowned private courses. The course is like playing two in one with a front nine that is spacious and open while the back nine is much tighter and more heavily tree lined. The entire Wedgewood layout sprawls across gentle undulating terrain, providing subtle breaks throughout that will test your skills. There are two holes that are particularly memorable, the 13th, one of the toughest par 4s in the area, and the 17th, a tough par 5. The 13th is a lengthy par 4 that requires a second shot over water with a long club to a difficult target. Wedgewood Country Club's penultimate hole demands accuracy with an uphill drive through a chute.

So much potential if they spent some money
I’ve been playing Wedgwood for about 20 years. Ian fortunate that my son (14) now plays with me. In my opinion, Wedgwood has one of the best layouts in SJ. There’s a great mix of tough holes, easy holes, and “medium” holes. Classic layout...decision making on every tee shot. Risk/reward
Good things: Tee boxes are generally excellent—level and well-maintained. Exceptions are #’s 3 and 8. 17 is sparse, but always in shade, so understandable. Greens are true, and tough to read—even after 20years of playing them. If hackers fixed their hallmarks, the greens would be fantastic. Fairways are generally good. This summer has been tough on them. Pace of play can be great or brutal depending on when you play.
Bad: Bunkers are sparse. They need to be fixed. Hackers also never rake them. Additionally, bunkers on 4, 8, and 11 have love grass in them. Unnecessary. I lost a ball in the grass in the left bunker, not 3yards off the green. Overly penal. Lack of rangers hurts when you have idiots in front of you as well.
#13. Toughest par 4 in South Jersey. It’s tough enough without the huge Sycamore on the right side of the fairway. I’d get rid of it.
I love this course and hope the current ownership puts some cash into it. I. my opinion, Wedgwood is a gem waiting to be polished.
Poor pace and conditions
Our Tee time was 822 and we had 3 players. There is no starter so a group of 5 went off in front of us with only 4 sets of clubs. Called they clubhouse from the first tee and they said they would send someone out to break them up into 2 groups. Called the clubhouse again after hole 2 bc they were still playa big as a five. The pace in front of them was also bad. Took 1:45 to play the first 4 holes. Since the club house wasn’t going to fix the issue we skipped 5-7 and played 8-18 in 1:45.
Course could also have been better tended for the price. The conditions have been declining at this course over the past year or two.
Great layout/good greens/poor condition
It’s sad to see this course continue to deteriorate year after year. It’s a great Leo. The sand traps I haven’t been power rake in forever and are all hard pan. When my ball was in the Sandtrap they raked the dirt under the bowl before heading it to be able to attend the sand shot. The pace of play is quite good because there is little play there. I’ve lived in Washington Township my whole life and I will play here again, truly sad.
Could be a lot better.
I got a GolfNow deal and booked as a single. I got to the course almost 30 mins early. I was able to ask about playing as a single which was allowed. I flew through the round. Only came upon one twosome walking and I played right through. The part that could be better is the course conditions. Many of the tee boxes were either all dirt or mostly dirt. There was geese poop all over the place and geese everywhere. The bunkers and fairways were in rough shape. The greens were the only part of the course that were in good shape. If I didn’t get a hot deal here I wouldn’t have played it. They charge too much for the conditions.
Awesome
I played this course many times the greens are spectacular the fairways beautiful never been in better condition had a great great morning
Nice layout
Nice layout. Could use some more care. Fairways are a little bare. Bunkers need more sand. Greens are good.
Course in terrible condition.
This is the worse course I have ever played. It is ugly and terribly kept!!
2 Seniors Learn the Hard Way
I’m a few months shy of 65 and my partner is 68 or 69. We played from the white tees, which more often than not required fairway woods to even dream of reaching the green Next time we’ll yield to Father Time and play from the yellow senior tees. Course was in excellent shape, with trees, water and traps to avoid. The only negative would be having the golf course on either side of a busy road, requiring driving the cart across it after the 18th.
Suggest adding restroom facilities along the course.
The carts could use servicing and lack of restrooms or port-a-pots is an issue.
Hot day
This was a very enjoyable course, a little long to walk, my choice. Front side is very forgiving and less challenging than the considerably harder back side.
Downward spiral
The fairways and greens were playable. The bunkers are gravel pits. The course shows obvious signs of decay from neglect.
Challenging
I live in the area and there are several courses to choose from but I always look forward to playing here! Nice layout with plenty of challenges!
Not a good experience
They bunched each group together to close in time causing everyone to wait for their shots and staff telling us to hurry up like we weren’t waiting for the group ahead of us. We had balls coming our way from the group behind us probably from the staff hurrying them up as well just not good at all luckily the weather was good
Needs work
Round started out bad from start. My cart broke down at 1st green. Had to wait for new cart to be brought out. They told me to beat on starter with one of my wedges, that this happens all the time. I know its fall and there are leaves dropping, but they make no attempt to clear them off the fairway. Finding balls was a problem all day. Course is tight, so better hit it straight. Bunkers were like packed hard sand. Not worth full price. went because of Golf now rate. This course could be really nice if they put some time and money into it. Looks to me like this course is on its last legs. Wouldn't surprise me to see it closing in future.

Your wording in your review makes a bad course seem ok overall, let's clear up the issue, maintenance here is just enough to keep it open, fairways, bunkers and greens have never been good over the last decade, sure the layout has some challenging shots, but why would any golfer pay the fees when the product doesn't equal it, hoping the management will fix things is in many reviews of poorly maintained courses overall, and the bottom line is, nothing changes, if we don't go there and spend money, they will either close or sell, we as a group must not accept poor as ok because we got a deal on GN or the course was a close drive, etc
