Wedgwood Country Club
About
Wedgewood Country Club in Turnersville is one of the most popular public golf courses in the Tri-State area. It offers an upscale atmosphere with a traditional layout that pays homage to Philadelphia's most prestigious and renowned private courses. The course is like playing two in one with a front nine that is spacious and open while the back nine is much tighter and more heavily tree lined. The entire Wedgewood layout sprawls across gentle undulating terrain, providing subtle breaks throughout that will test your skills. There are two holes that are particularly memorable, the 13th, one of the toughest par 4s in the area, and the 17th, a tough par 5. The 13th is a lengthy par 4 that requires a second shot over water with a long club to a difficult target. Wedgewood Country Club's penultimate hole demands accuracy with an uphill drive through a chute.

not great condition, including the trash can Photo submitted by Michael8613535 on 10/09/2013
liked it but
i played this course on 6-8-17, although i like the old school layout of tight fairways and smaller greens.
the one thing i did not like was the bunkers, if you can call them bunkers. they are full of rocks and on one of my attempts to get out of that rock pit i nicked my lob wedge.
the fairways were in great shape and the greens were in great shape as well.
Needs work
Played 5/29 on a hot deal from golf now, the clubhouse attendant barely even said hello. Course could have used a starter to force twosomes to play together. We were a foursome who kept having twosomes play up on us. We let them play through however that slowed our round. There were no food options, and the cart paths, and carts are in desperate need of repair. I would never pay full price to play here.
Not bad
I thought it would be worse than it was, but not bad at all. Very interesting, tough layout. Greens have hidden breaks that are a little tough to read, but not overall difficult either. Some greens are a little patchy, but I've played on worse. Fairways were a little bare in some spots, but nothing too bad to keep me from returning.
Also, one of my favorite practice greens in the area. Perfect place to practice your putting before you tee off.
Just ok
Greens still ahowing aeration holes. Fairways are still with bare spots, but it is still eatly. Cart paths are atrocious.
Hi "u000007715570" Thank you for your honest review. We appreciate your patience as the course is still undergoing maintenance due to aerification. We appreciate your patience as we should be back to normal in a few weeks.
Great layout bad conditions
This course has really gone downhill. The condition of the course was really terrible. The greens are patchy and slow, fairways were dirt with minimal grass. It appears it's being ignored/not being taken care of properly. The guys in the pro shop couldn't be more miserable. Wont be going back anytime soon. Go pay a bit more somewhere else for some real grass.
Hi "Nick3308394 " We appreciate your honest review. The course is currently transitioning into its peak season. The course is still recovering from winter and many of the greens are undergoing maintenance. We appreciate your patience and hope to see you again in a few weeks.
Great people and fun corse
Tim is a great dude and the course played well even when aerated... love it there!
Hi "Steven6295772" Thanks for the great review. We are so glad you enjoyed your round with us, please come back and see us again soon.
Better, but they need to win players back
Wedgewood took a big hit last year. Ive heard a few different versions about what happened. But basically they somehow killed ALL of the fairway grass on this course in 2016. To make matters worse, they didn't shut down or warn golfers. So last year, my friends and I booked a round, showed up and paid full price and no one said a word about course conditions to us. It wasn't until we were half way down the first fairway that we realized all of the fairways were just bare dirt. By the time we got to the second fairway, we packed up our stuff and demanded a refund.
Looking back at some reviews, wedge wood took quite a hit for this move last year. Many golfers complained about the terrible course conditions (it was literally bare dirt/mud from tee to green) and most importantly that they weren't warned.
As of 2017, Wedgewood appears to have things back under control. Ive played with several members who have hinted that the owner doesn't care to put much back into this place. But the course conditions are now fine, fairways are in good shape, bunkers are decent/average and the greens are fairly smooth. Its worth the $25-40 range. I won't pay full price here.
They lost some points with me because the amenities aren't great. Theres a small little restaurant place that I may have eaten at once. But even if the food was phenomenal, its a 15 seater bar that looks like it needed a cleaning and update 40 years ago. Its not great to look at, inside or out
Hi "William7411161" Thanks for the honest review. We appreciate your patience as the course did take its toll last season. We appreciate you coming back to see us and hope you are pleased with the overall improvements.
Poor Conditions
I know its early in the season but for $60 I expect better. The greens were overall in good shape, but fairways were horrible and the sand traps contained more mud and stones than actual sand!

nice course
i had a tee time right after 4 foursomes(i was playing by myself) and i asked the front desk if i could start on the back nine. he said okay but i would have to wait for a foursome just finishing the 9th hole. the 1st person came and told me to go ahead. another threesome let me hit up on a par 3 and play through. i proceeded to play the course in 2.5 hours which was very nice. course in nice shape and the front desk was very accommodating.kudos.
Hi "cardo1958" Thanks for the wonderful review. We are so glad you enjoyed your speedy round with us today. Please come back and visit our course as well as our excellent staff again. Thanks!
Always loved the layout but needs some TLC.
I have enjoyed the layout and location of this course for many years. It is always challenging. They are coming off a very bad year with losing the fairways. They are clearly trying to improve the conditions. The greens are in good shape and roll very nice. Grass growing has not started so it remains to be seen whether or not the fairways will recover. Not a full price course currently.
Hi "u000001538947" We appreciate your honest review. The recent blizzard did not help the course and we appreciate your patience as we work through some of these issues. Thank you again for the review and we hope to see you this coming season.
Why get a cart ?
I have played on this course , many times . I live with the fact that the back nine holes, 6 of them are cart path only . But then to see the condition that's it in as bad as it is , it's sad ! Other courses nearby are in excellent condition . Well if you just want to hit a ball and don't care to walk . Then this is the course to play on !!

Nice Saturday Morning
was a beautiful warm day and a nice day to be outside for sure. Course was nice, and staff pleasant, but I think a little pricy
Hi "wiffleball622" We appreciate the great review. The weather has been fantastic lately and we hope that it will continue into next week for us. We appreciate the review and we will take a closer look into our pricing strategies. Thanks
Greedy
Pace of play was horrendous. 5 hours and 45 minutes. It seems as though they overbooked and still gave any and every walk on a chance to play. It ruined our groups day!!!
Hi "Gmoore690" We apologize about your recent experience at the course today. Tee times were backed up the entire day because of a frost delay. Unfortunately the course was not overbooked but extremely delayed due to the morning weather. We do apologize about the inconvenience as this was the first weekend we had where the weather was absolutely perfect. Almost every single person in town wanted to get out and play and unfortunately with a full tee sheet and the frost delay it resulted in an extremely long round for you. We did not allow any walk-ons on the course as we were already completely full going into the day. Because of the frost delay this resulted in a chain reaction, delaying every single persons tee time, even the afternoon groups. To make up for the inconvenience we offered free drink tickets to all of the groups apologizing for the backup. We also had our starters and marshals constantly making loops around the course to speed up any gaps that there may be. We hope that you will understand that most of your inconvenience was due to the frost delay and not because we overbooked the course. We hope that you will understand and give us another try in the future. Thanks MGT
OVER BOOKED money hounds
They OVER BOOKED so you get there on time that you put in for
50 people standing around
hour behind tee times!!!
got dark and could NOT finish round
Hi "bstankus10" We apologize about your recent experience at the course today. Tee times were backed up the entire day because of a frost delay. Unfortunately the course was not overbooked but extremely delayed due to the morning weather. Many of the morning players did not start until an hour after their initial tee time and most of them were still out on the course by the time your tee time was scheduled. Because of the frost delay this resulted in a chain reaching, delaying every single persons tee time, even the afternoon groups. To make up for the inconvenience we offered free drink tickets to all of the groups apologizing for the backup. Nice people but loads of issues
The golf shop manager and starter were very nice but my experience was not very good. Here's why. First we didn't start to play until 75 minutes after our tee time because of a cart shortage. Second the course only had blue tees and no other marked tees. We played with two women and we constantly had to concoct a tee box for them. No one told us that before we began. Third they charged us for nine holes which was close to the 18 hole rate. We only finished 13 holes due to darkness. They gave us beverage coupons as gesture of good will but when we went to use after our round the bar person said they were no longer valid. We enjoyed the golf but the other issues were disturbing.
Hi "u226592810 " We apologize about your recent experience at the course today. Tee times were backed up the entire day because of a frost delay. Unfortunately because of this backup, many of the carts were not available for your afternoon tee times. Many of the morning players did not start on time and were still out on the course. We do apologize about the inconvenience as this was the first weekend we had where the weather was absolutely perfect. Almost every single person in town wanted to get out and play and unfortunately with a full tee sheet and the frost delay you were not able to finish your round. Winter golf
In February you don't expect a 60 degree day but when u do u need to take advantage. We had an amazing day at a great golf course, which was in excellent shape for this time of year..a must play when season begins
Hi "shankit77" Thank you for the great review. The weather has been amazing lately and we are so glad that you were able to take advantage of it. Please come back and see us again soon!
Goose DungAll Over
I had my hopes up to play this course in the beginning of the new year of 1/19/2017 since it was close to where I reside.
There was goose dung on most of the areas around the greens and tee boxes.
The condition of the ground was moist since we had some rain through the week.
The grass of the fairways, if that's what you want to call it seemed to be in poor shape and consistently muddy throughout the course and especially on the tee boxes. Lot's of trees down and being cut up since many of the trees seemed to have been neglected over the years.
Did I mention goose dung?
I may wait for a few months for the nicer weather in hopes the management will clean up their act and all of the goose dung.
Had to disinfect my clubs in hopes to prevent salmonella contamination for the goose dung!
Better than expected based on past reviews
As some of the negative reviews had indicated they burned out the fairways over the summer with fertilizer. played yesterday and felt they were very playable and greens were very good. Thought the layout was appealing as well. Will play again the next time I am in the area.
I realize that it is Winter Golf but the course is in real rough shape compared to every local course. Fairways filled with Fungus. Some greens unplayable.
Should only be $20 to ride here..
Horrible Condition
Course was in very poor condition. Most fairways were completely browned out and others were being aerated. greens were ok.
