Wedgwood Country Club
About
Wedgewood Country Club in Turnersville is one of the most popular public golf courses in the Tri-State area. It offers an upscale atmosphere with a traditional layout that pays homage to Philadelphia's most prestigious and renowned private courses. The course is like playing two in one with a front nine that is spacious and open while the back nine is much tighter and more heavily tree lined. The entire Wedgewood layout sprawls across gentle undulating terrain, providing subtle breaks throughout that will test your skills. There are two holes that are particularly memorable, the 13th, one of the toughest par 4s in the area, and the 17th, a tough par 5. The 13th is a lengthy par 4 that requires a second shot over water with a long club to a difficult target. Wedgewood Country Club's penultimate hole demands accuracy with an uphill drive through a chute.

not great condition, including the trash can Photo submitted by Michael8613535 on 10/09/2013
I really enjoy coming and playing a round here. The course is challenging and will punish mistakes off the tee. The only thing I dislike about the course is the conditions of some of the bunkers. Other than that, I think this course is good and with a few improvements it could be great.
Great Day
Golfed with my friends 78 year old father and had a great day. Golfnow tee time for $19.00 per player was amazing.
I have been golfing for a few years now with this course being one that I play multiple times throughout the year. So for my review, the good: for a public course it is pretty well maintained. It is a challenging course offering some open and narrow fairways. The water hazards offer an interesting challenge. The grounds crew are friendly and complete their work around the players, not disrupting a round. Overall it is a fun and challenging course to play. Now the bad, first the staff needs to get on the same page as the website. The website states $46 for a round, which I do not mind paying. When I get there I am charge $49, when I question why the price difference I am told "That's the price." Also as I stated in a review elsewhere, too many cart only holes. I get a par 3 should be a cart only, but a 500+ yd hole should not. In fact 7 of the 18 holes are cart only. I do recommend this course to golfers of all levels.
A GOOD TEST
The Greens were in great shape. The back nine was much tighter than the front. Spotty rough on some holes. Over all, a really enjoyable course.
Enjoyable
It's funny I never played before and was a little worried because I saw some of the reviews. I was pleasantly surprised really did enjoy myself. Def worth the Golf now 43$ rate for Sunday morning. Will def play again.
Sad
This once fine course is going downhill. Fairways and greens below average. Still a nice layout and very challenging. Not a course I would play at standard rate.
Overpriced and Underkept
Too many courses in the area that are nicer and cheaper. WAYYYYY TOO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT YOU GET!
Fairways are burnt out, as are the tee boxes and greens... and the rough... and the rock traps (didn't feel right calling them sand traps)
Shame because great layout and challenging course. Maybe they should use those sprinkler things and stop being cheap.
No starter
I would not recommend playing here. They always over book. We had 2 other 4some's booked at the same time. If you are looking to play a round of golf do not go here. Left at 4 hrs on the 11 hole.
Complete waste of money and time.
Not Bad at All
This was my first time playing Wedgwood in almost a decade. The course was in decent shape for early September and the pace of play was great as it wasn't crowded. We finished 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours, which was great. I had heard not so good comments about the course in recent years, but was pleasantly surprised after what I had been hearing. It was worth the approx $40 we paid to play on a Friday
Turning It Around? Perhaps
Well, after my not so glowing comments back in August, I made the investment and went out to see for myself on August 27. First let me say it was not my intention to embarrass or hurt anyone's feelings but I wanted to get their attention because I think Wedgewood is a great layout and has high-end potential! I know the people who own it and work there are Well finally I did get their attention and agreed to see it for myself. The rate was reasonable <$40. I had another commitment that day and I only got to play 13 holes. I played the front nine and then 10, 11, 17, and 18. Those four holes on the back nine were the holes I was most interested in seeing. If you know the course, you know why. Overall I would say the course was playable and because I love the layout it was rather enjoyable, I'm glad to say. Although I could have played better I hit some good shots. Most of the greens were smooth and quick, the way I like them. The fairways and tees were fair with some spotty issues but again for the most part playable. The bunkers were raked but contained some rocks and such. According to a GolfNow tee time advisory the crew aerated right after Labor Day. If that's true, give it a couple of weeks to heal and go out and try it. If you haven't played it before you will love this tight, traditional parkland style course design. The green complexes are well designed, well protected and many of them are slightly elevated. They are beautiful when in top notch condition and framed by pure white sand. Check it out. If you have played it before but not been back for a while like myself, give it a try again you know you want to...
Marc, I thought you might have treated for the first one?
Needs more maintenance
This course has some great holes #3 and #13, but I am assuming the budget isn't there to maintain cart paths, bunkers, tee boxes even some fairways, some greens a little dicey, the summer was not bad weather wise, and there were dead spots, if you get a deal play it, otherwise move on, $50-60 is money not well spent.
Could be Nice
Corse is in horrible shape. Everything from the tee boxes, fairway, rough, greens, and traps. Seems to happen every year here. It's in good shape then they let it go. Pace was good but only because no one was there for a Sun. Won't be back unless it's a hot deal.
HORRIBLE
They stopped putting any money into this course- which is a shame because it used to be quite nice. The first 2 holes are decent, but the rest are absolute junk! The greens are all diseased with dead spots, the tee boxes are horrendous and the fairways have weeds all over. This is definitely not worth the $55.00. I will NEVER play there again!
Stay Away... FAR away!!
This place used to be great(condition wise).. it was always a difficult track, but that's why I like it... today, the conditions on #1 and #2 were good... #3-18 were absolutely HORRIBLE!!! greens were diseased, fairways were cut okay, but WAY too many weeds, burnt spots.. the tee boxes were also horrible. Not worth the $55.00. Will never play there again.
DUMP
The worst course I ever played on. It looks abandoned. The course is in terrible shape. There is more geese and geese droppings than grass. They have a lot of nerve charging the money they do. It should be a $10 dollar charge to practice there. (not Golf). I would not play there for free and I am not excellent golfer
Great Course!!!
A slight problem with geese droppings!! Other than that a good course.
Bad shape
The greens need much work. The tee boxes need work. The fairways need work.

s an email I sent to the course email. Of course it went on deaf ears. Unlike a fine wine it's rotting on the vine.
Here's my original email:
I grew up in Turnersville and have played the course many times throughout the years. The course is a classic parkland course that used to hold professional qualifying rounds according to my deceased father. Both he and brother have also been regular patrons of your course for many years. I absolutely love the layout but from what I can see from the road and according to what I have been reading the course is in terrible condition. How can that happen, twice now over the last twenty years. I am sure you recall the course was closed for renovations, check no grass growth many years ago. You have a gem there that just requires some attention and resources. I don't know if it's a matter of you trying to milk every dime you can out of the place or just indifference. It would be terrible if the course closed and succumb to development. However, I suspect that's where you are heading. Any good money making venture requires investment in time and resources in order to be successful. Clearly that is not a priority for the ownership there at Wedgewood. Perhaps you should sell to someone with the resources and desire to return Wedgewood CC to the glory it once had. Disgraceful ownership!
I am not sure what I am trying to accomplish here other than you have the foundation for a great golf experience and you have chosen to neglect it. Whatever…
No response was given from anyone at the course. It really is a great golf course that is being horribly mismanaged.
