Very nice course to play
Back 9 way more technical than front 9. Challenging but fun to play
For the money it is fine
We payed $35 with cart for 18 on a Saturday morning; hard to beat that. The course fairways were really dry but the greens were in good shape. I was a bit annoyed with the cart girls as they would bounce through the hole laughing their butts off like they were stoned with no regard with what was going on (back swing, putt, ball flying straight at them, etc.)...they didn't even ask us if we needed anything...this happened 3 times during the round. You get what you pay for I guess.
You get what you pay for
Played on a Saturday for $19. For the money it was okay. Most of the course was hard as a rock, which was surprising since we have had non stop rain this summer. I have a steep swing and there was no way you were taking a divot. The layout was fun, my wife was with me and the course being shorter with hard fairways made for some rewarding tee shots. The tee boxes are in terrible shape. Probably need abandoned and redone. The greens were better than expected, based on the tee box and fairway. The rolled well, with good speed and we were able to enjoy hitting some nice putts. Overall, not bad for a Hot Deal, but from where I live I doubt I'll make the drive again.
Horrible, Horrible, Horrible
Pace of play was atrocious. We walked off after 9 holes. 3 deep on every tee box. They let way too many people out and no Rangers anywhere. Golf carts will broken down all over the course. The ones that ran were slow and dirty. Didn't ask for a rain check because I am never playing there again. Not worth any amount of money.
Enjoyable Course for an excellent value
Really enjoyed my round at Rolling Meadows Golf Club. They weren't busy on this Thursday morning and I finished my round in just over 3 hours. Facilities and carts are basic, nothing fancy but what you would expect for the price paid. The golf was very relaxing and enjoyable with most fairways in decent shape and greens in excellent shape. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will play here again.
Good pace beat up course
Played on July 4th. Course wasn't in the greatest shape because of heavy rain very wet outside the fairways. Garbage cans missing on quite a few holes.
Great course for the average golfer
Good course for the average golfer. Some easy holes and some challenging holes where you have to hit the ball straight. The greens were in good shape. The bunkers could use some work.
Good Cheaper Course
Pretty decent course for the value. A few challenging holes. Fairway and greens were hard as a rock. Greens in good condition.
GREAT STAFF
A fun course to play - the staff is always friendly and
helpful. Enjoy taking my family to that course.
Gone downhill
I used to love this course. As a matter of fact, I played it almost 30 times last year. However this year, it is in bad shape. There are weeds and dandelions on most of the fairways. The grass in the fairways is thin and unkept. It's disappointing to see. The one bright spot is the greens. They roll nicely, but overall the course is in bad shape.
Mowers
Staff mowing has no consideration for golfers. Red mower followed us for three holes literally stalking us without turning off mower. As we would hit he would inch up to us within ten feet. Then followed us for three holes we had to skip a hole to get away from him.
To wet to play.
I made the t-time 2 hours before I was t-off When I arrived I was told it was to wet to play 18 holes. I could play the back nine twice. My issue is not with the course because they where very helpful. It is with golf now because I was not warned before I showed up. Very poor on golf now.
br review
Golf in December is awesome
The course was nice and playable
Tree leaves too plentiful on fairway, green, etc
Course was ok but leaves and high toughs and rough greens made a challenge. Value for the price was good.
Putting greens
This course is in bad condition, the putting greens are as long as the fairway grass , you can't make any put long or short that how bad it is!
Mixed feeling
I went to the course for the first time as a single and ran through in about 3 hours The overall course condition is ok, but the greens of the front 9 were in poor shape and mainly covered by fine sand. Maybe they are re-seeding the greens? The greens of back 9 is better, but it is significantly slower than most couses.
The course has a few holes interesting. I
would definitely try again sometime in the future as this can be a very fun course.
Nice course.
Challenging and fairly open. A couple of holes play a little long but they have plenty of different tees to fit anyone.
Course Plays on the Easy Side - Course in Fair Condition
We booked a threesome for 18 holes though a golfnow hot deal. Arrived at the course and the staff were very friendly for check-in.
The carts are noticeably on the older side, and they run so-so. I rode by myself and my buddies paired up in a cart, and their cart was still faster than mine. There was one abandoned cart beside a tee box midway through the round and I can only assume that it died and didn't make it. Still, both of our carts worked for the entire round and had no problems.
The course plays on the extremely easy side. There are a few holes with water and a decent number of the holes have bunkers, but this course is kind of a take-your-driver-out-and-whack-it course, as there is not really much penalty for wayward shots. There are a few trees, but the course is mostly open.
We had a good time playing, but as noted in other reviews the tee boxes are in pretty bad shape. Lots of divots and burnt grass, sometimes there was almost no grass on the box at all. It seems that there is no irrigation to the boxes.
The greens were average as far as speed. They were in average shape and seemed pretty hard on this hot, late summer day.
The fairways were in decent shape; I had no complaints when I was hitting from the fairway.
Overall, this course was a good value at a hot deal, but I won't rush back anytime soon. My buddies and I all scored well, and we liked that it is not that far of a drive from Columbus.
This would be a great course for beginners or for those who want a relaxed, open country course kind of round.
So much fun
Took my nephew out to play his first round of 2014 and Rolling Meadows delivered a great time. The course was in excellent shape, the staff was cheerful and very helpful. There happened to be some local school kids out on the front nine that slowed play a bit - -but everyone was so accommodating as we stacked up 4 deep waiting. We all just joked with each other, so it was not an issue.
Rolling Meadows on a Sunday afternoon
I want to start out saying that the staff was polite and very helpful. Our cart stopped on #11 hole. Had to walk back to the clubhouse to get help and another cart. Others on the course were aware of why I was walking back, but did not offer to help. The front nine took WAY too long to play because of the threesome in front of us ( we were a twosome ). On the back nine, a foursome got upset with us because we wanted to play through; they were not even ready to begin; they were waiting for a fourth, no one at the tee box. Golf etiquette of playerswas lacking. My biggest complaints would be the carts were in terrible shape as well as the tee boxes. I look forward to playing golf with my son, but this was not an enjoyable round.
