Golf Club of Dublin
About
Although the climate gives away the location, the Golf Club of Dublin is a more authentic interpretation of the traditional links of its Irish namesake than most other replicas you'll find. The flat terrain, which was formerly a cornfield, was transformed into an enjoyable linksland layout covered with tall, sweeping heather and hundreds of yards of hand-stacked stone walls. The gently rolling fairways are generous and the classic, square-shaped greens are enormous and fast. In keeping with a true links golf course, there are nearly 80 steep, sod-walled bunkers waiting treacherously by the fairways and greensides to swallow up errant shots. Depending on the sun, the shadows cast over the bunkers can play tricks on your eyes, making them appear deceptively deeper or shallower. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes at the Golf Club of Dublin.

Pricey
Pretty sure all the greens fees go to the water bill. Can't remember the last time it rained and the front of every green was unplayable it was so wet. Have never had so many plugged balls and wet socks on this dry of a week. No one monitors pace of play and the greens are just ok for the price.
Great course!
Have played here many times, never disappointed. Pace was great today and course was in good shape for the most part. Will be back!
GREAT Condition!
The staff at the Golf Club of Dublin has done a phenomenal job of keeping the course is great shape. Other courses are struggling to keep up during this heat wave, but GCOD is awesome! Very impressed.
This course is greedy and does not care about their employees or customers AT ALL.
This course is nice, but not $80-$100 for a tee time nice. DO NOT play here if you don’t want to deal with un-fixed divots in the fairway, un-fixed pitch marks all over the greens in every putt line, and poorly cared for bunkers to the point where there has been wasp nests in multiple bunkers on the course (also not raked 80% of the time). The rough is also very inconsistent, with some parts feeling like you’re playing at Oakmont for the US Open and some feeling like a regular public golf courses rough.
I also heard a conversation between a member and the director of golf, where the member was complaining to him about the amount of divots in the fairway and the director of golf’s response was “a corporate guy told me divots mean dollar bills”, implying that he and the owners of the course do not care about the condition of the course and only the money. Which is pathetic, they are doing the bare minimum to keep people happy enough to play the course.
They also do not truly respect veterans, military, and first responders. For 4th of July, they put a lot of American flags up but took them straight out of the package and put them up. They did no preparation for the flags and when they took them down they ROLLED them around the poles they were on and they have been sitting in a corner in the cart barn since.
To add on top of this, the management and corporate do not care about their employees especially the cart barn employees. While the cart barn employees are paid minimum wage ($10.70/hour) and get no tips, but the other positions mostly start at $15-$18 an hour.
The course also EXCEEDS the amount of money they need to profit every day, which is around $14,000. I believe they usually make $20,000-$30,000 every single day. Even on off days, they still break profit. All of that money pretty much goes to the corporate guys.
This golf club may seem like it has things figured out, but they truly do not have it figured out. They are just getting by with the bare minimum, and only attracts the people that have money. It used to be $50 for 18 and a cart when it was privately owned but now it is significantly more and it is not worth it. They also do not allow people to pay for only walking, people are forced to pay for a cart regardless of whether they want to use one or not.
They fool people with being able to keep the course green and somewhat nice, but they can improve on A LOT of things.
The point is, it’s not worth the amount you have to pay to play this course. Sure it’s not, but not $80-$100 nice
Fun to Play
Enjoyed playing here for my first links style experience. Course is beautiful. Pub was fun after with friendly folks working. A little overpriced but not terrible. Great experience overall. Hope to play again next time I'm in the area
Nice course, poor value
How this course continues to charge over $60 per round is astounding. It's nice, but not that nice. But as long as people are paying it, they are charging it. The course offers generous fairways, tricky yet well placed bunkers, water hazards throughout, and a good mix of long, short, and medium length holes. The greens run smooth and true, but can be slightly difficult to read. I think they should run faster at this price. They're a bit on the slow side (probably like a 7 or 8 on the stimp). The clubhouse is a bit small, and the bar offers minimal snacks and drinks. The driving range is nice and the practice green is too. The rough here is actually penalizing compared to surrounding courses, which I love. Not a lot to say bad about the course but the price.
Great Course - Great Time
My son and I joined another 2-some and played an early morning round before things got too hot. The course was in great shape. Pace felt OK - short wait at each Tee Box. 4.5 hour round. Pricey - but worth it.
Been Awhiole
I usually play this course in the Fall, but decided to play in the Summer. Course was in excellent condition considering all the rain we had received over the past couple of days. The greens were in great shape and the fairways were wide open and green. I had a great time and will be back again
Well-designed, Stay Out of the Rough
This course rewards solid ball striking with large manageable greens and good short game opportunities. However, water is in play on most holes both on the drive and on the approach shot. The rough is maintained to be a real challenge for clean ball striking as well. There are several short holes that are markedly easier but most holes offer a significant challenge. Greens are well maintained.
Keep it on the course and you’ll have some fun.
