Reviews
They were aerating the front nine and the fairways had some bare spots . The greens were perfect and the course has a nice layout that is fun to play. Rolling Meadows is definitely a good value for the money.
BAD!!!
The condition of the course was the pest I have ever seen. Fairways were pretty much dirt. It looks like the course has not been taken care of for a couple years. If you like golfing in your backyard this is the place to be.
Course conditions are deplorable- fairways are almost totally bald, I had better lies when I was in the rough. Greens were in decent shape but as hard as concrete. We were a few minutes early for our tee time and the first tee was backed up pretty well- we found out that there was a foursome that didn't have a tee time that they let in.
We only had time to play the front 9- all of the holes are pretty straight and flat, there was only water in play on one hole, and the fairways were pretty wide open with the exception of the 8th hole, which is somewhat narrow and has trees on both sides. Both par 3's were fairly short.
Pretty Average
Course conditions not ideal, surely in part to lack of rain recently, however greens were in pretty good shape. Had to find grass spots in the fairways to hit shots as there was so many dead areas. This course would be great for beginners if it had a range. Course info on Golf Advisor says it has a range, however it does not. Please update. Course layout fairly wide open outside of hole 9. Id play at an afternoon discounted rate but that's about it.
Disappointed
Had to roll the ball to get on grass on almost every fairway shot. Green areas and greens themselves were in great shape.
Great hot deal value
Course has a very good layout. Grass is cut long if you are not in the fairway. Greens are very nice. Not sure I would be saying this with all the rain this spring, but the fairways are getting a little dry. If you can get a hot deal it is about the best value around.
Hidden quality course
The greens are the best we have played on this summer. Almost perfect greens and very fast! The rough needs cut down one more inch as almost impossible to find a ball in the rough. Not difficult to hit out of however. The course is a demanding long course!
thick rough, soggy meadows, very fast greens
enjoyable but lost several balls in the thick rough
Under rated
Not the most challenging course but has long grass in the rough. No beer sales on Sunday either
Hidden gem
Out of the way nice track. Rough was a little high which led to some longer than normal ball searches...but on the cusp of US Open, that is expected and know rain has prevented normal mowing efforts in recent days.
