Minerals Golf Club
About
Minerals Golf Club is one of seven courses offered by Crystal Springs Resort, which includes Ballyowen -- the top rated course in New Jersey and Crystal Springs, which is ranked as one of the 50 toughest courses in the country. Minerals Golf Club manages to stand out despite being such good company. This Robert Trent Jones-designed layout has ranked in the top 12 short courses in the country and it is known locally as the best nine-hole golf course in the area. The course sits at the base of Hamburg Mountain, sprawling across lush rolling hills. The layout is both scenic and challenging with a blend of natural hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play. The course offers a fair challenge that is player-friendly enough for juniors and beginners, making it an ideal round for families.

A good outing
This was my first time out this year due to a broken back surgery. 9 holes was just the right amount. Course was in good shape.
GOLFNOW USER
After waiting over twenty minutes I finally found the employee parking a cart. I figured since I paid in full online that I would be able to grab cart. He said it would be an add’l $10 and I needed to check in inside. My friend and I just looked at each other and followed him. After saying he will take the loss and take it up with you, we asked for a second cart. He said no as it was just the two of us. I told him we are charged $10 each so if we were willing to pay for it, what difference would it be? He then said that he was too busy and couldn’t spare the cart. Really??? We had the place to ourselves outside of maybe six other golfers. Very skeptic and will have second thoughts in booking here in the future.
Great place for players learning the game.
My wife is just learning to play, and has graduated from pitch and putt to a more authentic golf experience. Minerals is a great place for players that are making that transition. Plenty of obstacles for a fun challenge, but not enough to create a frustrating experience. Most hole lengths are short enough for those who are still learning how to strike for distance, while the blue tees offer enough yardage for seasoned players to break out the longer irons, and an occasional wood. The tee boxes, fairways and greens have all been in great shape the two rounds we have played there. We will definitely be back.
PS. If you hit the ball to the right on the 4th green, don't go get it unless you want to get yelled at by a crazy old dude. Our playing partner was berated quite vehemently for accidentally slicing his tee shot toward the condos.
First time playing here. Nice course for me and my son who is learning the game. Starter is fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Great views, course in very good shape.
No signs on course
Loved the course as I am a starter and allows me to be aggressive and not fear losing balls. Lots of bunkers but it sure beats water lol. Only wish there were some markings either at the holes or on the pathways
Great practice course
This course is a great place to work on some iron shots. Greens weren't amazing and some bunkers had rock issues but other than that a nice little course.
Disappointed
Got their no carts had a reservation had to wait,
Sand traps no sand, Rocks,
No supervision at the course, no rangers other golfers driving on greens with cart, tried to call the clubhouse to inform no answer, Have been here before, was good, now you can see they are not taking care of course very shameful, very disappointing
Good Value, Quality Golf
Good value, 18 holes with cart for $26. Played in 3 hours. Good course for Average Golfers, not for beginners or Kids learning the game. Elevations make a poor walking course. They should build some bridges for more direct access to greens after hitting your approach shots. Greens are undulating, so very quick on the wrong side of a putt or chip.
Wouldn’t recommend
I waited 30 min for a cart that I prepaid for.
There were neighborhood girls walking around in the course randomly.
Loud motorcycles near 8th and 9th holes.
Would not go back.
DISAPPOINTED
Course had only 9 holes. Had tp play twice and wasn't documented that way. Sprinklers on in fairways. Called pro shop to turn off. They didn't.
Cheap and I can tell why
This maybe the worst course I have ever played. Greens were slower then my carpet at home. The fairways plugged every driver I hit and the sand looked like a cart path. Really disappointed and shocked Crystal Springs puts their name anywhere near this course.
What I Expected
The course is exactly what I expected. The first hole is incredibly tight off the tee. The course has great variety in the par 3s; should really be an expectation since it has 5 of them. Par 4s have reasonable variety. Greens are OK. Course conditions were fine. Be aware, this is the "family" course for the resort, so there is a 18 hole foot golf course that runs down the fairways, not sure not that might mess with tee times. Also, each green has two flagsticks, one for the regular players and one with a larger hole for groups with young kids. For value...9 holes costs $20 plus resort fee, 18 holes is $25 plus resort fee (when I played). The 9 hole fee might be a little over priced, but the price for two loops is a good deal. (objectively, the course is probably 2 or 3 stars, not 4. But at the end of the day, it was never built to be a Sweetens Cove level nine hole course. It serves the design purpose perfectly, so 4 stars)
