April 12th
12:30 tee time. We got there early by 30 minutes, the cart attendant asked us if we wanted to start at 12:10 with another pair. We said sure, luckily they were younger like us and playing their first of the season.
Pace of play was smooth minus a backup during the first 9 on the 6th hole and a large backup on the second go around on the 7th that we just gave up and left it was so long.
Course played well. Greens were hard to judge, some fast some slow. There were some drainage issues in the fairways, looks dry but once you step the water surrounded your foot.
We had a $14 hot deal, so while still not fantastic it was worth the price we paid.
Nice short course
A nice short course for getting back in the swing.
Pleasant grounds. Very friendly staff.
pleasant day
Minerals is a picturesque course that offers a variety of holes to play. It challenges club selection for tee shots. While there are parts of the course that need some tending most of the course was in good shape.
The staff was friendly and fellow golfers were considerate and friendly...important as I am not very good and it takes me a bit to play through. Not sure posted yardages are very accurate...but then neither am I! Will certainly play this course in the future.
Enjoyable Little Golf Course
The course looks easy on the score card, looks easy from the tees, but is more of a challenge then meets the eye. Enough trees, sand, and water so that a poor shot is punished. Great course for juniors. My eight year old, who only started playing a month ago had a great time. The junior tees are well placed.
The course is generally in good shape except for the tee boxes. Several of them were quite worn.
Beverage cart came around three times during our 18 holes. Only snacks and drinks are available from both the cart and the pro shop. If hungry before or after your round, the hotel has a nice restaurant.
Overall, a good enough course for an experienced player, and a great course for a youth learning the game.
Value course
This course is designed for families and beginners. The course isn't well maintained really with uneven tee boxes, beat up greens and no rangers. BUT.. This course is priced accordingly. I played for 10 bucks on a Sunday afternoon, you cannot find a cheaper 18 than that. I signed up as a single and played with two others and we got stuck behind a family with two young kids so our front 9 was painfully slow but that's what you get for 10 bucks. I would recommend this course for beginners, families and anyone looking to play a round for cheap. Bring your lunch because there's no food, just snacks. Anyone who rates this course poorly is silly, this course is an excellent value for what you get.
A Decent, Cheap Course
For the price, it's tough to beat, but you definitely get what you pay for. This is a 9-hole course that you play twice for a round of 18. There are no Par 5's. The course isn't maintained well, but you can't expect a well-kept course at the rates they go by. Also, there are no food/drink carts, everything must be purchased at the clubhouse. And there is no actual food to buy, just chips, power bars and $4 beers. One more thing, a black bear did cross our path during our round on the hole with the water hazard, in case that concerns you.
very challenging
loved the course set up to make you think, very good condition
Really cheap course
We went went $15 and played 18 holes. I would not pay anymore than that. It was in poor condition, and there are kids pins on the greens. EXTREMELY EASY COURSE!
Bang For Your Buck
You're going have to have a hard time finding a course thats a better value with this one. Course was in good shape except for the bunkers which where very hard and riddled with rocks and puddles (Had just rained ALOT in days before). Besides that the course was great and the staff was very nice.
Good conditions and pace of play was excellent!
Nice course good people! Enjoyed the fact it's family friendly.
Not bad for the money
Par 62 gives you a good test of your short game but there's still opportunities to use the driver on the longer holes.
Some strange going ons! Adult supervision needed!
First off let me say that I have enjoyed this course for many years. The layout is interesting and it it pretty well maintained. The back tees are a tough but fair and the staff is always friendly.
My wife and I did see some strange things when we last played however. We ran into a group of 4 carts with 5 golfers trying to learn the game of golf. At the tee, several attempted swings were taken until the balls were finally struck. Afterwards a discussion started to try to improve the beginners chances of advancing the ball more then 40 yards the next time they hit. I thought for sure that we were part of a TV show that films people in crazy circumstances! After waiting for 25 min to tee off we skipped a hole and continued our round. After completing the 9th hole we arrived again at the first to yet another interesting site. 6 golf carts parked at the 150 yard mark with 8 teenage golfers ready to hit into the green. Not wanting to play behind a eightsome, we passed them as they waved us goodbye and drove on to the 11th hole. So our round was only 16 holes long .But we now understood why the course had so many great deals on GolfNow.com! They really need a ranger on this course.
Also keep a watch out for black bears. We saw one cross the 7th fairway! Hackers and teen eightsomes and bears, OH MY!
Fun course geared for beginers and families.
Two flags on each green, one regular size and one oversized. Cart paths are getting rough and need repair. Watch out for bears between holes 1 and 2 when driving through the woods.
Short sweet and challenging with very scenic views.
If you don't mind zero par fives this course is for you. Great mix of holes. Small creek passes through most holes. First hole narrow treelined and up hill, Very challenging.
Great executive course
Played here three days in a row. Great 9 hole course for beginners or skilled players looking for a quick round.
Course was recently aerated but still a great option. The course had some challenging holes which provided good variety to the game.
Good value and not sure whether fees normally include cart rental.
Other players on the course were friendly as well.
Beverages and snacks must be purchased from clubhouse in advance. You will not get a visit from a drink cart on the course.
Overall highly pleasant golf experience for a couple of hours.
Course conditions were poor
It's been a few years since I have played there so I was surprised that the course was in such bad shape. There is lots of garbage laying around along side the cart paths and in the woods. Lots of non golfers just walking around walking dogs, kids on skate boards walkers etc. very disappointed I will not go back.
