Marysville Golf Club
About
Marysville Golf Club has been one of the most popular public golfing options in the area since it opened as a nine-hole course in 1932. A second nine was added in the 70s, completing the layout as it exists today. Save for a few mild undulations the course is mostly flat, providing an enjoyable walk. The fast bentgrass greens provide a good opportunity to use your short game skills. There are a few small ponds that come into play as well as a meandering stream. While there isn't a plentiful amount of bunkers there are enough strategically placed throughout to provide a fair challenge. Marysville Golf Club is not overly difficult but the versatile layout has a playability that will appeal to players of all skill levels.

Good value play
First off this is a good value play. Greens were in good shape. Only complaint is there leaf removal seems to be a bit behind other courses. If your in fairways your probable okay. Spent considerable time looking for balls that would other wise been easy finds. As well as players in front of you. At 12$ this is a great deal. I live on scioto reserve and dont see one leaf anywere but thats what you get for 100$ a round average cost.
Pleasant Surprise
The golf carts are in dire need of upgrades but the course and greens are in great shape. Quite a treat and great value.
Average Course at best
The Golf course is OK and I played 18 holes in 3 hours because there were not many people there. I do not like the staff though.
Unenjoybale Experience
This may be our most unenjoyable golf round of the summer. We did not realize they had four inches of rain and were told that it was cart path only when we arrived. The course should have never been open. The girl inside never moved from behind her computer in the corner and told me to take the cart out in front. I went out to find a cart with wet mud all over the floor. I went back in ti tell her the cart was unacceptable. She said they were all going to be that way which was not the case. I did choose a different cart, but many of the carts had mildew stains and ripped seat cushions. The carts chugged along in starts and stops.
Once we were on the course there was water everywhere with actual ponds in the middle of the fairways. None of the tee boxes or greens were cut. The grass on the tee boxes was so tall that it was difficult to judge how high to place the tee. Putting on the greens was like putting on plush carpet and very frustrating. Even a well hit ball died and splashed as it hit the fairway. Several guys were so frustrated that they walked off the course and didn't finish.
Needless to say, we will not be back as it was a very challenging experience.
Course condition in line with cost
Played for the first time this weekend. Fairways and tee boxes were ok, greens were not consistent, and over all the course looked like it was in need of some updating. I feel like the cost was inline with the quality.
Value Course
With long par 3's, hilly par 5's, and some challenging dog leg holes, this course allows you to practice just about every shot and pull every club in your bag. You can't beat the price, and the conditions are consistently well above average for the price point. Biggest hot dogs in Central Ohio!
Needs a starter
The course is situated in flat Ohio farmland, with gravel cartpath, a few water hazards and several scruffy bunkers. The condition of the fairways and greens is very good, but the layout of the course and the skill of the participating golfers results in lots of trespassing from each fairway to the next. Lots of lost balls, coming and going.
The worst feature was the lack of a starter or ranger. The staff lets singles or twosomes start a few minutes after each other, so the backups are constant. We suggested the single behind us to join us, which was fine. When we suggested the twosome in front of us to join the twosome in front of them to speed up play, we were attacked with rude and crude language and gestures. Why????
Course better than expected
I enjoyed my round of golf at Marysville. It wasn't overly crowded and the pace of play was very good. The sand traps are well placed, but missing sand so if you get in one its pretty much hard dirt.
The club house and pro shop are nothing to write home about, but serve the purpose and get you out on the course quick
Great bang for your buck
Paid $15 on a Holiday with a cart for 18 holes and I was extremely impressed with how nice the course was for this price. I was expecting it to be fairly rough and have slow greens. Not at all. Fairways were cut short, greens rolled fast and true. The only complaint I would have is that the sand traps were in rough shape, but luckily I didn't hit into any! The course layout was nice, and moderately challenging. I am definitely coming back. Can't beat that price anywhere near Columbus.
nice course-poor amenities
Played / with my son and the weather was perfect , if a bit warmer than I would like . The course was in good condition save the sand traps that were all hard and crusty and some had standing water. The carts are old and loud gas types, and I was afraid ours wasn't going to make it to the finish line. Fairways and greens were in good shape, but stone cart paths are rough and bumpy. Last comment is that there are a number of ponds that were surrounded by geese and the resultant droppings. Course needs a dog!! You get what you pay for.
Nice course to play
Wide open and easy to play.
Fairways and especially greens were is excellent shape.
I played around 3 PM on a Thursday and completed 18 in 2.5 hours because there was no one on the course.
Really enjoyed the round.
Nice surprise
Hadn't played here in many years, but booked a last minute Memorial Day round. Clubhouse is in desperate need of updating, golf carts are old, but course was in great shape. Greens & bunkers were in fantastic condition. Not a top-tier area course but worthy for a budget-minded player. Only saw 1 shirtless player.
Fun course ruined by terrible course
Fun course just outside of the Columbus area for a very reasonable price. The course itself was well maintained and groomed. However, the carts are very outdated and beat up. My brothers cart died on them on hole seven, which was very time consuming and an inconvenience to our round. They had a few newer carts up next to the clubhouse, but for some reason would not allow the golfers to use these carts. Although the price was right I will not be back due to this unfortunate circumstance.
Golf carts
Golf carts are in very bad shape. I don't think they maintain the carts. Lots of holes on the seats and not clean at all. Hope they take this seriously and fix the carts. I was stuck on the course and had to get help from other golfers to push my cart. It was very embraceing
Great Value
My friends and I like to get out any play golf together every few weeks, however we don't like paying premiums to do so. Marysville Golf Club is a perfect spot for the casual player...priced correctly, well maintained and not overly difficult. If you're looking for a posh club with top-rated amenities, this is not the place, but if you're looking for a good course for low cost, this is it.
Love the elevation changes. Every hole is different.
Greens a little slow but that was due to the poa. greens were well manicured though. Par 3's are tough!
Marysville GC great value
Course was in very good condition. Tree lined most fairways. Playing from the Blues lengthened to my moderate desire. Most of the 3's were in excess of 200 yards, which I liked the challenge. Without having played the course previously or having anyone in front of me, one hole in particular captured two of my balls in the water not knowing if it's location. All in good fun. I will be back, especially at a golfnow hot deal price.
EXCELLENT greens
granted, we played in mid-December which is unheard of really for Ohio... but the greens are STILL perfect. the rest of the course could use some minor improvements, but if mowed enough the course is a complete challenging mid-am track. still come here for a quick round and a certain challenge!
Great value for the money
I really love the lay out of this course and you can tell it use to be private years ago. The greens were in much better shape than they were 3 years ago when I was here and I had forgotten how much break were in them. It's not terribly difficult except the last 4 holes. The carts were slow gas powered and could use an overhaul but for the price I will definitely go back.
