Second time this month
Course was soaked but considering the amount of rain in the morning it was in great shape. Will be going a third time.
Well kept course
Course was in excellent condition. Greens were fast and smooth., if I had to say anything negative it would be the cart paths are more like a goat paths.
Great Course
Fairways, tees, and greens were in great shape. Golfers PLEASE fix your ball marks.
Rude staff allowed 5 some
Staff was rude as usual allowed a 5some out seemed to know the staff . 60$ is steep for this course . Next time Bunker hill.
Excellent condition
My friends and I played Pleasant Valley recently and were encouraged by what we saw. The greens were in excellent condition, and the fairways were in great shape, too. The area has seen some substantial rain - along with some heat and dry spells - but you couldn't tell that by the conditions.
The course layout is pretty typical of courses in this area, with several doglegs and greens of varying size. Slopes on the greens were about average, and they didn't play too fast or break too much. The front nine is much more wide open than the back, and some of the holes on the back are very tight, especially the short par 5 13th hole.
Also, it was nice to see the course ownership investing in the property. Some parts of the cart paths had new concrete, and the clubhouse has received an exterior face lift. The new GPS carts were an excellent addition, too. I hope the course continues to invest in the property and upgrade all of the cart paths, but I expect that will take a while to complete.
I look forward to playing Pleasant Valley again!
its definitely too expensive compared to other course.
very long round.
pace of play needs to be monitored by a marshall riding around from group to group
A mixed bag
It's a mixed bag at Pleasant Valley.
The good:
- pace of play
- course condition
- the new carts
The bad:
- It's not a $72 golf course which is their weekend prime rate. The amenities just aren't there.
- the paths, especially on the back 9, are horrendous and need a repaving ASAP (someone who has a paving business, I see an opportunity)
- no bathrooms nor water on the course
- No. 17 needs a drop zone
- the overgrowth along the right side of #18 and which blocks any shot or view of 18 green needs addressing
- the clubhouse is very shabby looking for a $72 round
- when I asked where the towel bucket was, was pointed to a spigot. Can you not afford a $5 bucket?
- the clubhouse sent out a 2 some on #10 at 11am on a Saturday in the midst of a steady stream of 4 somes making the turn. Who does that?
I think Pleasant Valley fancies itself in the same league as Shale Creek and Bunker Hill which are nearby but it's not.
A more appropriate weekend greens fee is upper $50s. But at $72, it's a hard pass in the future.
Hidden Gem
This is one of the hidden gems in Northeast, Ohio. This was my first time playing, and the course was in excellent condition.
First time out this year
Booked tee time same day, played 9 hole in 1.5 hrs. Course in good condition.
Spring Round
Course was in great shape considering the amount of rain. Fairways we amazing. Greens were very fast considering it is April. I can not believe there were only 4 groups for the entire day. I have played here on and off since the early 1970's, the course continues to amaze me.
Bill from Akron
Pleasant Valley is a hidden gem. It’s family owned, always in great condition and difficult enough to challenge your game.
