Slow pace of play
Complete and total chaos on the front 9. 5 man teams with 3 carts going every direction in the course. Shotguns tee times need to be spread out more. Course is beautiful
Another course with tee times too close together.
I like Valleaire. I do. It's beautiful, challenging enough for a high handicap duffer like myself without being overwhelming, and very well-maintained.
My only real complaint - and this is something that happening EVERYWHERE these days - is tee times 7 minutes apart. When "regulation" pace of play is 15 minutes per hole, tee times this close together result in horrid traffic jams. All it takes is one quartet (moving normally, I might add) to bring pace of play screeching to a halt. And heaven forbid someone needs to take the PGA-defined 3 minutes to look for a ball. You feel like you need to be in a huge hurry since there is always at least one other group sitting right behind you at any given tee box, which really just takes the fun out the game.
To be clear, this is an issue at nearly every course in my area. It's abd enough that I'm considering a private (non-country club) course/club membership just so I can play an actually RELAXING round of golf again.
Course was very dry and some of the greens were rough. Overall it was in pretty good shape considering the lack of rain. Not a lot of hazards, starter was a little rude even though we were ready to tee off 3 minutes before our t time he said we should get there earlier because the league guys were ready to start. I would still come back. Pretty good value for the round and pace of play was great. 3 hour round of 18.
Good course- awful pace
I’ve hesitated leaving this review because the people working the course are very friendly and professional but this is now the 4th time as a solo golfer or 2some that slower 4somes refuse to keep pace or allow faster golfers to play through. I was solo yesterday and teed off at 9:30- round finished at 2:30 and I was on the tee boxes WITH the slow 4some in front of me. Feels like etiquette is dead- last year I had to leave after 9 holes due to it taking 3 1/2 hrs. A ranger would be a great start
Good course
I like what they did to lengthen the course. Green are in good shape. Our ter time was moved up, which didn’t make sense because it just caused a log jam on the golf course. There was no one overseeing pace of play. Otherwise, the course has improved overtime.
Will be back.
Used to play this course a long time ago. Apparently 10 years ago it got some money put into it. With all things considered weather wise and all that. The course was in great shape. Played well. And the staff was so friendly.
