Horrible.
Would never play again or recommend this to anyone to play. For it being owned by the metro parks the course is horrible. My father in law use to play in a golf league. He even said that the course has gotten worse.
Friday Morning
Ironwood has improved now that it is owned by the Metroparks. Greens were overall excellent; the fairways and rough need some work but, I would rate them good. Layout is the same with some difficult downhill and uphill Par 3's. He lower valley hole still are wet in places and I think always will be due to the topography. Clubhouse and Staff were A-1. For a Friday morning at 10am it was surprisingly crowded but, all Cleveland area courses are right now.
Not bad
Didn’t really know what to expect. It had been many years since I played here.
Generally in good shape. It obviously needs some work as cart paths in rough shape in a few places. Could use some tree work especially on the narrowest holes which would speed up play, especially for the higher handicappers who tend to not be on line. Otherwise relatively open and good play speed
Getting better since taken over by Cleve Metroparks
Course is getting in better shape. Greens are above average compared to some courses. Cart paths however are poor to horrible, but that’s a major capital investment.
Slowwww
Wasn’t a fan of being able to get tee times as a single golfer right behind a league. This league was very slow and no one would let me play through because it s was their league. Staff was very friendly but the pace completely ruined the fun. Course was in decent shape but lacks a lot of character
15 good holes and 3 are in a swamp
They have 3 holes on the back that are awful 13-15. Swampy marsh is where they are built. The other 15 holes are great
Beautiful course!
Great value for such a beautiful and challenging course. Staff is also very friendly.
Slow Good
The course is in great shape and has a character. Played on Friday afternoon and the course was busy. Only complaint was the lack of a ranger keeping things moving and having to stay patient through a 4 hr and 45 minute round. A side note, the patrons love playing music on the course. Second time I’ve been here and it’s prevalent. For those of you that play music, you may want to consider that everyone doesn’t share your taste in music or listening to it during a round.
Slow play!!
First nine was reasonably paced but made the turn and at the 10th hole there were four groups on the same hole. Had to leave due to time constraints. Very disappointed as I was trying to enjoy an event with my son for Father's Day and had to only play nine after paying for 18
Golf and a Concert
We played a morning round ahead of a league. The course was in good shape from the rain with three holes being a bit muddy. Overall a nice layout with enough character to keep it interesting. The only setback we had was from a group that was playing music out of their cart and had it cranked up where I could name that tune from150 yards. When asked to turn the music down for consideration during our putting on an adjoining green, they simply turned their music up a notch. What was more shocking is that these golfers are easily in their 60s. When the starter was made aware of the loud music and the request to turn it down, she had mentioned that the metro parks courses allow for music to be played, but she personally did not endorse the lack of consideration from the golfers that were either part of a league or an outing. Overall, a good day with a minor annoyance, but one that I’m hearing more and more of as I play local courses. No consideration for others.
