Golfer Reviews
Too expensive for course quality
If you get a deal, or play during the week this place is fine.
On Sunday it was 86 dollars and the turf just isn’t there. Really bad drainage and irrigation. Huge dirt patches on the fairway. Poorly maintained greens and cement-like traps. If this place was 50 bucks a round, I would say it’s perfect, but the course is just too torn up to charge as much as they do.
The pace of play was 5 hours for a 8:50 tee time. Our group waited on every hole. We didn’t see a ranger until the twelfth hole.
one hole was closed and no make up offer extended
course is mid renovation and is poor in most spots
for 86$ you are better off paying extra for a 5 star course - this isnt a 86 dollar course
Course currently has construction issues
Hole 2 was closed and multiple cart paths are under construction. The halfway house at hole 10 was closed and by the time you get there it is too late to drive back to clubhouse. No water on the course and then no facility at the turn to buy it. Not good in this heat.
It plays like two different courses with front 9 tree lined doglegs and back 9 more wide open. 18th hole was a great finishing hole. Driving range sits between holes 10 and 18 so slicers could easily end up OB.
Not up to standard and overpriced
Started off on the wrong foot when we learned at registration that hole 2 was closed for repairs, and our thrilling alternative was to play one of the other par 3s twice. Naturally, no discount was offered—still a wallet-lightening $86 per person.
While waiting to start, we were entertained by the dynamic duo of the foursome in front of us, who arrived late with only one set of clubs. The starter sent them to rent another set, leading to a delightful 15-minute delay.
I generally like the layout of Rancocas, but current conditions are, shall we say, abysmal. Besides the chaos on hole 3, numerous other areas are under repair. Clearly, divot and pitch mark repair is an alien concept here.
And the pace of play? Better left unmentioned...
Pace of play is a joke
The pace of play was a joke. They allowed a group of 5 play in front of us and 3 groups ahead was a group of 8. There is no way this should be allowed. The round took 5 and a half hours. They didn't have any water on a hot day and the halfway house was closed on a Saturday in the summer. Save yourself and play another course.
Paving going on
It would have been nice if they let us know cart path paving was going on for holes 1 thru 4. It was annoying—but I’m sure it was all just timing. The addition of the snack shack is awesome!! The course itself is in great shape other than the construction.
Under repair
Course is undergoing extensive renovations. Whole number two it’s not able to be played at all. The rest of the course at burn out areas throughout Fairway and rough and in some areas, no grass at all.
Sunday afternoon watering?
I’m not sure who sets the sprinkler schedule but to have them running on a Sunday morning is a little ridiculous. Especially when some were broken causing flooding on the fairway. Maybe water during the week. Other than that decent course, tough greens, no water on course so complimentary bottle at check in.
Your staff needs a lot of work. Front desk person not friendly, not helpful and made one feel unappreciated.
Stater in his own world. Not friendly . Kind of like golfers were a problem for him.
Your halfway house gals were very nice and professional.
Nice overall
Course is really beat up right now. Second hole is closed. Fairways have a lot of burn, and lots of unplayable areas. Greens are in nice shape. Once repairs are done it is a great course. Snack shop is cash only, maybe get venmo or something.
Great course
It’s a great course it’s browning a bit but they are doing their best to water it. Tough course on the front 9 easier on the back. Very friendly staff and good pace of play. Definitely want to play it next year earlier in the year to see how nice it is under perfect conditions.
