New “circles of death around greens”
They have installed new electronic invisible fences around each green, 50 feet from edges.
This presents a problem for some seniors and handicapped players.
Special carts with flags should be available for these situations.
Exceptionally nice staff
Haven’t played Black Brook for a decade or so. Warmly greeted by Tim the head golf pro. Had another pleasant exchange with him at the turn. Makes a difference when people show some passion for their job. Course was in nice shape. Greens pretty well maintained and rolled smooth but not exceptionally fast. Bunkers have plentiful sand. Some tee boxes are showing wear this late in the season, but divots were filled with sand. Some work underway on the paths crossing the creek. Back nine is more interesting. Good place overall.
Pace of Play is horrible here
Took 2 hrs and 35 mins to play 9 holes as a single.
Teed off at 10:15am
Groups in front so slow (possibly a league but this shouldn’t happen on a Friday)
Staff was friendly
Highly Disappointed
I am so disappointed in this course. I used to play this course every day 36-45 holes a day years ago. And I come back to see this MONSTER OF A 5G tower on number 10. HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO THIS COURSE???? This course used to be BEAUTIFUL. But now? I have to see this eyesore on number 10, 11, 14, 16, and the most amazing hole 18 every time I play now????? Who made this terrible decision? Is the money you are getting worth it? These towers emit RADIATION. They are microwaves. Is the $50,000 a month worth it? Pure greed!!!!!!! These towers are impacting the health of your golfers. Do you not care about them? SHAME ON YOU CITY OF MENTOR!!!!!!!!!!! TAKE IT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pace of play
Front 9 was fine made the turn and ran into 3 groups one of which was a 5! Went inside to ask where they came from and was rudely told oh it’s a league he thought! Never came outside to check back 9 took hours!

Always a solid course in very nice condition where you will use all your clubs and the staff is very friendly.
