Cart Path ONLY is Ridiculous and Unfair Greens
Played both Monday & Tuesday and was Cart Path ONLY...should not have been!!! The greens were very unfair. They were rolled and cut too short plus pin placements were awful. Everyone was three or four putting, The rough on the edge of the fairways and around the greens was 4+ inches in many places. Golf is supposed to be fun. Will not play this course until greens improve and they allow carts in the fairways.
Excellent Shape
The course and the greens were in excellent shape. We had a great afternoon. Course was cart path only. The course is very reasonable as cart path only.
Great fairways greens in good condition. Staff very professional and nice. Greate. Evening 9 hole round
Could be a great course
Excellent layout and interesting holes. Needs an infusion of improvements.
St Denis in October
A few of the greens dry around the edges, but everything else looked good. One of my go-to courses.
Never a flat lie so be prepared
Ball above feet, ball below feet that’s every hole so Be ready and willing to accept those conditions.
I booked a time and it wasn't honored. In addition we were only allowed to play 9 because of a large group coming at 3pm.
The Distance to Par
While I drove over an hour to get there, it was worth it. The course looked a bit antiquated but played nicely and for me the layout and pace of play were very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful with hints as well. Overall I will come back and will be bringing some new players with me.
St. Denis
Fairways and greens are in good shape. The greens hold pretty well. A good challenge.
Not like it used to be
St Denis is a fun, interesting track. Every hole plays different than the next. A few short, driveable par 4s. Some blind tee shots. Elevation changes. Subtly slope-y greens. Peaceful atmosphere. Solid all around. (Don’t look too closely at the lame clubhouse, which doesn’t really matter.) But…
I’ve never seen it in rougher shape. I know recent weather has made it difficult to maintain a lush course. So I can look past some of the brown in the fairways. But diseases are infiltrating many greens - which were borderline furry today.. Tee boxes are mostly beat up and littered with broken tees. Rough has a fair share of weeds. It’s sad to see. And it’s about criminal that the greens fees are higher than ever.
Haven’t played Fowler’s Mill yet this year. Maybe all of the CLE Golf Properties money is going there. But St Denis deserves better.
great course but needs a bit of work
it’s a great course but needs to be taken care of a bit better. many brown spots by and on the green
