Green Crest Golf Club is a player-friendly course located in Middletown. The course was designed in 1972, offering a traditional layout with wide, forgiving fairways and short roughs. The golf course is on the shorter side at 6,271 yards from the back tees, which is indicative of the time it was designed. Strategically placed bunkers lurk along the medium-sized greens on six holes and there are water hazards coming into play on eight holes, but the challenges are straightforward and don't present too much trouble for high handicappers. Very slow play
If you’re going to have a packed course, make people get a cart, can’t have a foursome walking and everyone else in carts. We skipped getting food at the turn because the course of play was too slow. Also, we skipped 4 holes on the back 9 because the people in front of us were too slow.
Waste of time and money. Won’t be coming back.

Painfully slow
Not enough carts. Tees off 30 minutes late then took 3 1/2 hours to play 9. Waiting for 2-3 groups at every hole.

Could be a nice course
The fairways are in poor shape, seems like there's very little reinvestment since they've been that way for the better part of the last 2 seasons. Course layout is great, and could be a very nice course. Still, it's golf.... can't complain too much.

Play if you have nowhere to be later
This course is very hit or miss when it comes to conditions. A month ago from this review it was in pretty good condition overall, for price and being public. Fast forward to 8/12/22 and it looks like the fairways were destroyed. A real shame. Also, the last two times I’ve played here they have overbooked and been low or out of carts, leading to a delay in starting, AND they seem to occasionally be confused which tee box people need to tee off on leading to further backup. This can lead to long rounds. I enjoy the course, but hate to play 3+ hour 9s and 5+ hour 18s. Just make sure you give yourself a 5.5 to 6 hour buffer if playing 18.

Trees, Trees, Trees!
Course has a great layout but the trees that line every fairway are HUGE with many branches hanging out into the fairways, I managed to hit almost all of them! Fairways don't seem to have sprinklers because they were mostly dry and brown. The green were pretty nice overall and seemed to be well watered. Carts were nice as well. I will definitely play there again and next time I will know a little more of what I am getting into. I shot higher than my handicap because I spent a lot of time in the trees unfortunately.

Green Crest
This is a well designed golf courses. Some short par 4’s lead to a number of long par 4’s. At 6000 yards for the men’s course it has a number of par 4’s at 400+ yards. The fairways in August suffer and grass is not full . Greens were good but inconsistent. However, for the price this is an excellent course. This is a local public course and should be accepted as such. Biggest disappointment for me was pace of play and no ranger or beverage cart on a Saturday.

Good mix of long and short hoies
It's a tree lined fairly flat course and can be walked though on warm days like today a golf cart is helpful. Quite noisy on the holes along I75. There is a good mix of long and short holes allowing for use of all the clubs in the bag.
