Green Crest Golf Club is a player-friendly course located in Middletown. The course was designed in 1972, offering a traditional layout with wide, forgiving fairways and short roughs. The golf course is on the shorter side at 6,271 yards from the back tees, which is indicative of the time it was designed. Strategically placed bunkers lurk along the medium-sized greens on six holes and there are water hazards coming into play on eight holes, but the challenges are straightforward and don't present too much trouble for high handicappers. It might not be the golf course you're looking for if you want a truly formidable test, but it's a good option if you're looking for a quick and affordable round. Blaming it on Cart Path only…
After passing Green Crest hundreds of times, as I traveled I-75, I finally decided to play it. I figured a quick, nine whole round on a Sunday evening would be perfect. However, due to the heavy rains over the previous few days, cart path only rules were in affect. And apparently, every golfer in Ohio, that has never played with “cart path only” rules was out playing on Sunday evening at Green Crest. Lol!
It shockingly took two hours to play four holes?!? (This is no exaggeration!) And, my “quick”, 9-hole round took over 4 hours to play. Ugh! I believe this is a first for me in 45 years of golf.
But as the title says, I’ll chalk this up as playing with “cart path only” rules in effect, and will give it another shot during the week when most are working!! 😉

First round in 2023. This is one of my favorite courses. Course in good conditions, the pace was excellent (I finished 18 holes in about 3 hours). The staff was very friendly. Will be back !!!

Great Course
Incredible course. It is in great shape, especially for November. A nice challenge but not too hard. Can’t beat it for the price!

First timer at Green Crest
I’m a 13 with three kids and haven’t played in about 5 or 6 weeks. Anyway, my oldest and I grabbed a Hot Deal for $37 apiece for Green Crest on a lovely fall Sunday morning. Check in was easy and came with a free ice cream and a free 9. Sweet! We got right on the first tee and headed off. The course was in great shape - obviously some places with leaves to make ball finding a challenge but nothing too crazy. Better than I expected. The greens were in phenomenal shape! Very well taken care and challenging. Speed changed throughout the day, challenging pin placement and plenty of break. There are a couple holes with weird lay outs but I thought it was a fair challenge for me. I was definitely rusty and you pay for missing drives. You’ll probably need most of your bag - lots of variation in hole lengths (very short and very long 4’s with lots of in between).
Anyway, a really nice course and for about $40i don’t think you’ll find anything better. I’ll go back next season.

Fun easy course
Very flat, no OBs to worry about, almost a beginner course. There are a bunch of trees that can make it tricky.
Greens were great and staff was awesome. Overall, easy but fun course.

This is a little gem of a course. It’s an interesting layout without being overly difficult.

Great Value - especially with GolfNow!
Course is in great shape except the fairways are getting a bit sketchy with a lot of bare spots.
Staff is great. This was my first time using GolfNow app. Easy. Straightforward. Quick check in.
