Green Crest Golf Club
About
Green Crest Golf Club is a player-friendly course located in Middletown. The course was designed in 1972, offering a traditional layout with wide, forgiving fairways and short roughs. The golf course is on the shorter side at 6,271 yards from the back tees, which is indicative of the time it was designed. Strategically placed bunkers lurk along the medium-sized greens on six holes and there are water hazards coming into play on eight holes, but the challenges are straightforward and don't present too much trouble for high handicappers. It might not be the golf course you're looking for if you want a truly formidable test, but it's a good option if you're looking for a quick and affordable round. Green Crest Golf Club is ideal for beginners and even gentle enough for juniors.

good course
Thought they had over booked as the lot was crowded but we played at a steady rate. Course was in good shape and enjoyed the day.
Great Course
First time playing. Great course, challenging, yet not outrageous. Course was in great shape too. Very well maintained and friendly people (except the group who hit into us and never said a word). We will be back!
Pass
So this was the second time I've played this course this year. The first was awful and I thought I'd give it another try.
My cousin lives nearby and wanted to play there so I joined him. When we arrived there was a "mini outing" in front of us. So things were painfully slow. The outing was playoff a scramble and the group in front of us seemed to suffer from "I think I can reach them" syndrome. They would wait for the group in front of them to clear the green on par 5s in hopes of getting home in 2 and not come remotely close. They would also do this on no 3 and 4 which are really long par 4s. Pretty safe to fire then chip on the green.
The dude in the pro shop was pretty rude to me when I asked about starting in 10 and he also made a comment about me booking on golf now.
No ranger present to speed things up and when we tried to move ahead of the slow guys in front of at the turn who stopped to refuel with a few cases of beer we were quickly stopped by them. So we played the front 2 x.
The time I listed was for the front 2x if we'd played the back I'd probably still be there.
I'd sayid u want to wasted the majority of your day for a course who greens look like something out of Iraq go for it. I won't be there ever again to slow you up.
A challenging course
Challenging course, but I had my best round of the year!
Great track
Great track that has seen better days. About half of greens were pock marked with ball marks (fix 'em people!). Not entirely the fault of the grounds staff, but made scoring difficult. Some of the fairways were dry and in bad shape. Not sure why. Love the track. Challenging but good and accurate shots are greatly rewarded.
Looonnnngggg waits
I always have liked the course, however there was a scramble before our tee time and did not know in advance. That caused a long wait in teeing off and long waits in most holes. Because I paid in advance we could not leave. I am very apprehensive to use this method again at this course. When we checked in at the front desk the guy was very vague in the timeliness of the pace of play. Very disappointed in the whole round.
Nice greens and decent fairways
Pretty fun course to play. Good bargain for your buck. Staff usually fun an knowledgeable. Enjoy playing here!
You get what you pay for
Course was in decent condition, especially for late in the season (August). Pace of play was horrendous. Groups were sent off on top of each other. One group was allowed to play as a six-some. No marshal to monitor pace of play. No beverage cart. Fortunately, I only paid $25 for 18 holes + cart thanks to GolfNow.com special.
Management and staff very friendly
Not too difficult for novice but still challenging for lower handicap players.
overall very nice slow play
Pace of play was incredibly slow and no staff members to be found. 6 cart back-up on hole 10 and finally on hole 13 a staff member showed up after my 2ND call to the club house. Then movement began to happen. Overall course played well. Not sure that I'll play it again on a Saturday morning.
Pace of Play
It took 3 hours to play the front nine and 2 and 1/2 to play the back. VERY slow. Started 15 minutes later than tee time and it only got worse. The course was in very good condition with lots of course challengs, but 5 1/2 hour round unacceptable.
If you can't eat beef they have no alternatives...hot dogs, mets and burgers.
Would play again, but scared of another overloaded tee time schedule.
Nice course
Nice course. Some of the fairways were a little long, as well as the tee boxes. The setup varies most holes are easy with some medium difficulty. I will play again.

Nice course, pretty open but some nice holes. Great pace of play
well maintained
Course in great shape. Not much difficulty compared to other courses in the area, but also in better condition than most. Easy to find balls you may hit errant.
Course in great shape
I have played Green Crest several times over the past 3 years. My past experiences were fairways that were dry and hard. Not this time! Everything was in great shape from fairways to greens to bunkers. It was a great track for a nine hole round.
Shorter but good & fair
Not a lot to this course but I liked it. Some of the holes are next to I-75 so you have to get used to the sounds of traffic but that's at a lot of places. It's not too open or too tight. Greens were in good shape, sand (there's not a lot) but bunkers were tended to. I wouldn't change anything about the course. There's water and a cart girl who made her rounds. The staff at the check in and turn were good. We had some snacks at the turn and got right out to #10. We had a group of high school walkers in front of us and they allowed us (twosome) to play through so pace wasn't too bad.
nice day but tough day
Not bad grass a little tall lost alot of balls due to high grass off fairways just cut high not overgrown .wouldnt pay the $40 for a round but the 25 frim teetime worth it.
Great
I love this course. Always in good shape. The rough is typically kept fairly long and can be thick. Greens are small, real small. Not a super long course but the small greens, thick rough, and tall trees can make it tough. Especially for a beginner. The course is flat and it's definitely "walk-able".
I'd like to play it dry!
The course itself was fairly routine with a lot of straight open fairways with the occasional water hazard. Good for golfers just beginning or average. We didn't realized how much rain had come down in the area when we went to play which resulted in cart path only (never fun) and soft fairways and greens. It was a bit of a mess but not the fault of the club. Was a good deal for the price and we'll be back. The upside to the weather was that we didn't have any waiting and were able to run through 18 no problem.
