Green Crest Golf Club
About
Green Crest Golf Club is a player-friendly course located in Middletown. The course was designed in 1972, offering a traditional layout with wide, forgiving fairways and short roughs. The golf course is on the shorter side at 6,271 yards from the back tees, which is indicative of the time it was designed. Strategically placed bunkers lurk along the medium-sized greens on six holes and there are water hazards coming into play on eight holes, but the challenges are straightforward and don't present too much trouble for high handicappers. It might not be the golf course you're looking for if you want a truly formidable test, but it's a good option if you're looking for a quick and affordable round. Green Crest Golf Club is ideal for beginners and even gentle enough for juniors.

Fairways were hard and dry, though webhave had drought lik weather the last few months which may account for this ....pace ofplay is slow. Nice course to play for the price .
Great Course for Value
Course maintained well. Sand was the best we have seen in years.
Beware
If you’re looking for an enjoyable round of golf, steer clear of Green Crest Golf Course. My recent experience there was nothing short of a disaster, thanks to the unprofessional and frankly, rude behavior of the course ranger, Bob. We were playing with two new golfers, averaging a reasonable 15-minute pace per hole. There was a slow group ahead of us, and the group behind us was playing from the gold tees (slowing down the course even more), yet Ranger Bob decided to single out our group for no apparent reason.
Instead of managing the course efficiently, he harassed us as if we were the ones causing delays, completely ignoring the bigger issue ahead and behind us. For the $50 price tag, you’d expect some level of courtesy and common sense, but all we got was a miserable experience and a ranger on a power trip. There are plenty of nicer courses in the area for the same or even lower price, where you’re treated with respect and allowed to actually enjoy your round. Skip Green Crest and find a course where the staff knows how to properly manage play.
Worst Golf Experience Ever – Rude Staff and Unfair Treatment
If you’re looking for a relaxing day of golf, do yourself a favor and avoid Green Crest Golf Club at all costs. Our recent experience was ruined by the most condescending and overbearing ranger we’ve ever encountered—Bob, I’m looking at you.
Despite playing at a solid pace of 15 minutes per hole, we were repeatedly harassed about holding up the groups behind us. Mind you, the groups in front of us were the real cause of any slowdown. But instead of managing the situation fairly, Bob decided to zero in on us. To make things worse, the group behind us was playing from the gold tees—so clearly, they had no business pushing anyone.
By the time we finished the front 9, things took an even more ridiculous turn. Bob demanded we split up our group and insisted we play from different tees. At that point, the day was already ruined by his bossy, over-the-top attitude.
The course itself is nothing special, and with treatment like this, the price to play here is ridiculous. Save yourself the frustration (and money)—there are plenty of other courses in the area where staff actually know how to treat customers. Green Crest? Never again.
Great Course
The conditions of the course are immaculate. Props to your Greenskeepers! First time playing here and will be back again. Price seemed a little high for a mid-week/twilight round and older golf carts, but I understand how much it costs to keep the course looking the way it does, so that's a fair balance.
Good course, tight Fairways.
Good course in great condition, old country club so Fairways are tight but it's a good challenge. And kind of a short course as well.
Every time I play this course I tell myself I will not come back. It took over an hour to play the first 2 holes. They overbooked and the pace of play was horrific. The fairways and tee boxes hadn’t been cut. The staff is friendly but incompetent. I will not be back.
Southwest Ohio is going through a terrible drouhand course is dry especially fairways. The pace of play that day ,was slower tha.n average
Hidden Gem
Would like to play in spring when harsh summer weather hasn’t severely impacted the course. Despite the drought greens and tee boxes were in very good condition. Pro shop staff was very accommodating and stocked nicely with golf items. Rates are very reasonable. Will recommend to my friende
nice course
This a nicely designed, extremely well-maintained course (fairways and greens). I only played the front 9. There was a water feature on 3 of the holes. The only drawback was that it was more crowded than I expected on a Wednesday evening.
Shame on the Groundskeeper
First time playing Green Crest in several years. Always enjoyed it in the past. Not this time. We’ve had dry weather lately but the course looked like it hadn’t seen water in months. Literally the only areas that were green were the tee boxes, greens, and last half of each fairway. The ground everywhere was like stone. And in spite of the heat, there were no water stations anywhere on the course. Other courses in the same area are in much better shape.
