About
The Trout Club (formerly known as Licking Springs Golf Club) sprawls across a scenic landscape of rolling hills dotted with natural springs that is also home to an abundance of wildlife. Jack Kidwell, a local course architect who has played in role in many of Ohio's golf courses, designed the challenging layout. The course has a traditional design covered with mature trees, which are especially concentrated along the fairways. The undulating greens provide excellent putting surfaces. Their small size and quick speed will test your short game skills. The course is definitely a shotmaker's layout, placing a heavier emphasis on the placement off of the tee rather than distance. It is a layout that requires careful course management and skillful strategy. In addition to the golf course, The Trout Club offers two practice putting and chipping greens as well as a public swimming pool.

Fun track challenging back side on hill narrow fairways
Great course fun and friendly staff. Great restaurant and parking. Course plays hard! Front is open little greens , layup required in summer conditions!! Tight fairways on back with drivable par 4s. Definitely one to play in spring and summer! Fall leaves make left or right off tee box nearly impossible to find ball.

Trout Club Golf Course
Probably the last time I'll get to play it this year. The guy in the pro shop confirmed the club is being sold to Moundbuilders & they're turning it private. Good course. A lot of elevation changes. Good mix of easy & hard holes. I'm gonna miss playing there.
Trout Club
Staff is always very nice & accommodating. Found out about a month ago that the club is being sold & will go private ini 2025 so I'm going to miss making the 40 minute drive there to play. Get your swings in out there while you can.
Tough conditions due to drought
This course is no cakewalk. The greens were fast, undulating and tough to read.
Conditions in rough and fairway were struggling due to the extreme drought this summer. With the upcoming purchase and planned upgrade by Moundbuilders CC, this course could be a gem.
Conditions horrible
Leaves everywhere and took 5 mins to find your ball. Fairways were high not cut.green were not the best.

First off course condition was terrible, grass was all dead and brown and with that the ground was like concrete ,second of all on the back 9 there was a fivesome of kids that had to all be under ten years old driving carts around picking and choosing holes cutting in front of us , hitting directly at us and nearly crashed into us as they were “looking for balls “ horrible experience
Greens hold well
Everything is dry but the greens actually are in good shape, roll true and hold great!
Great course
I always love playing trout club, the course is nice especially the front. The back can be a bit hilly so if you slice it will eat you alive...
