Safari Golf Club
About
Located adjacent to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Safari Golf Club was carefully carved from mature forests. This tight course is not particularly long, but it has a varied design that appeals to a number of different tastes and skill levels. The layout features tree-lined fairways and water hazards on several holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking treacherously beside the greens. The golf course starts off with a challenging par 4 that features a dramatic drop from the tee to the green. It finishes with two demanding par 4s as well. The 17th and 18th holes both feature a slew of challenges including rolling, tree-lined fairways and tricky stream crossings. Although it presents a formidable test on some holes, Safari Golf Club's hazards are straightforward with no surprises.

Always Reliable
Worked at this course last summer and got to play it very frequently. It was my first time back this year with a group of friends. It was about all I expected it to be, reasonably priced, conditions were decent, food is good as always. The hot dog buns are now toasted, which is a welcome change from last year. 17 is one of my favorite holes in the Columbus Area, but most of the rest of the track is very straight-forward. Except for 18, which requires a precise tee shot to clear the 2nd creek crossing. My only criticism of the round is that the grass wasn't exactly growing on holes 1 & 17. I guess I remember the conditions being better last year. But all in all, solid round
Zoowasgood
With the hot deal pricing provided by golfnow.combthe Safari course was a very pleasant experience. While the course does somewhat crisscross holes, it is very well marked to keep you on the right path between hole to next tee. I did experience a slight problem with the maintenance staff that was mowing a green as I was about to hit my second shot on a par 4 hole. He would not place the flag in the hole awaiting my shot. This was an oversight, soon corrected.
Good Day out
I was in Ohio to watch the Senior Open and decided to fit in 18 somewhere near my hotel. The Safari came up in a quick online search and I'm glad it did. Nice course, well laid out. I normally walk courses but was advised to take the buggy as it was hot. The course is also long and there's a bit of walking between certain greens and tees. Marshalls are on course trying to keep the pace up although not always successfully and the people in the pro shop are extremely helpful. Ended up playing 36 holes. Good value for money and a fun challenge for the average golfer. Incidentally when I arrived in Ohio Wednesday I was looking for somewhere to hit some balls - that's how i found the course. They have a very nice practice range if you only have an hour to kill.
Great course
I loved the course will play 18 holes next time I messed tee time up a day early but got on to play 9 holes. Stay out of rough or you will pay the price.
love this course
wide fairways, thick grass "rough" - crazy 18th hole with a creek meandering across the fairway and back.
Shockingly nice
Had some reserves about this course but all doubts were gone once we started playing. I don't enjoy being put together with randoms like this trip. Rather just enjoy the round with my friend or friends.
Come a long way
The course is about 5 minutes from where I live in Dublin. The course overall is a very nice track....kind of early for the greens to be rolling well...which they weren't...but overall...always a good experience.
A very well manicured course
This course is a very nice and well manicured course. If you keep your ball in the fairway, then you will score shots. A great course to practice other shots.
Early Season round
When I checked in I asked the pro shop how pace of play was. He said 4.25 hours, they were working hard on keeping it moving. We played the front in 2 hours 40 minutes. No excuse. Slow play kills the game. This course should take about 3 1/2 hours to play. As busy as they were, they need a ranger to keep it moving. Greens were very bumpy.
Greens need work
The greens were very sandy and slow. Conditions were like putting a fabric ball on a velcro surface.
Extremely slow, no marshall.
I visit this course once in a while.
However, the rounding on 3/27 (Sunday) was exteremely bad.
There was 2 teams before me.
They played with a terribly slow tempo. One of them hit the ball to only 30 yards forward at every shot. In addition, they never allowed me to pass them.
I had to wait 15 minutes every hole. The team behind me was also upset and annoyed.
However, any marshal or staff to expedite their play was never shown.
Nice layout
Played day after Thanksgiving. Course in great shape, greens ok,staff was very friendly.
Nicely kept course
Nice course. My husband and I reserved tee times for two early afternoon on a beautiful Wednesday and found the course to be very busy. We had to wait a few minutes for the players ahead of us to finish each hole. The players behind us played into us.
The greens were very nice and the fairway grass was well kept. The reservation tee time has a glitch that they say happens frequently. Instead of your own name, the reservation name shows up at "turner".
Nice course with small greens
First time played and was enjoyed the smaller greens. The course was very playable and I will be playing again.
Great value
I haven't played this course in years. They did an amazing renovation. The course was in excellent condition.
Drill it and kill it
The course was straight on almost all, held up by old walkers. Golf carts were new and cool even has coolers.
Great time
Course was great. Price fantastic. One problem: High school college help in the way raking,, cutting trees, driving trucks, weed whacking and talking.
Great course
I love what they have done with the revisions to the course.
