About
Windmill Lakes Golf Club consistently ranks as one of the best courses in the state and is definitely the top golf course in northeastern Ohio. Located in Ravenna, it is the home course for the men's and women's golf teams at Kent State, which is only six miles east of the club. The large, undulating greens are the layout's defining feature. The greens also have a reputation for being some of the best-maintained in the area, allowing them to roll fast and true. The fairways, tee boxes, and rough also boast the same great conditions. More than 50 bunkers are strategically placed throughout the golf course and there are seven lakes that provide water hazards. The Windmill Lakes layout, which measures to just under 7,000 yards, only has two par 5s but there are several long par 4s that demand accurate drives and strong iron play.

Not bad for early spring
Great shape for an early spring round, it was as expected
Always a great choice
I have played well over a dozen times and will continue to play. Comfy gps carts and a tournament level course, does it get any better? Definitely worth playing if you have not yet.

Windmill Lakes
Windmill Lakes is real nice with landscaping and other pleasantries. The greens are fast and large. However many damaged fairways and approaches. Number 8 Par three is over a pond. The pond was always pretty and nice to view. Now is green scum. Other water spots are nearly as bad. With "Lakes" in the name, you would think more attention would be given to them. I gave a lower rating due to the course in 2021 was "Cart Path Only" most of the year. As a senior golfer in a travel group and other seniors do not play for that reason. Windmill needs to loosen up the rule. They also charge premium prices. They offer a membership, but it comes with many restrictions for play. Unless local not worth it.
Can’t get on
I use to love to play on Windmill but last year we couldn’t get on much! We have the golf pass with them but often could not get tee times or it was cart path only! Every time we called they were cart path only! If you are older and playing that way is very difficult! Very disappointed with the course!

Course head leaves all over it even on the greens
Course was a mess leaves everywhere leaves on the green looked like there was no maintenance done to the course Couldn't even putt on the greens !!

Use one more club
The course has true distances, nice large greens, plenty of trouble to be had but if you play smart it is manageable .

It's has been a long time since I had played the course but it has only gotten better with age. The course was in great shape even though it was healing from airlifting. The start was very good and kept the up tee times on time.

Play was a little slow . Greens were very slow . They just Aerated the course recently but was in over all good shape

GOOD GOLF COURSE
Good course, but not in the best condition as it has been in the past! Extremely slow greens and a lot of fungus spots on the course.

Def worth playing.
Excellent layout. Course condition was good. Pace of play was rather slow but was holiday weekend. Being a twosome we’re paired with another group. I hate this and dish courses would quit doing it. I’m not a fan or golfing with strangers. Otherwise. Staff great. Bar clean and prices reasonable. Def worth playing if you’ve ever wanted to. Just have plenty of time and be prepared to golf with another group if you don’t have 3 or more with you.

Not what it used to be.
I've played here for years but this time the course was in really bad shape. The fairways are almost bare on many holes, the tee boxes are beat up pretty bad. We were behind the KSU golf team so it turned into a 4 1/2 hour round. Too many other courses in the area that are still in great shape and can get around in 4 hours or less.
I get that this is the KSU golf course but to give them the first tee time and have them back up the course is not acceptable. If they need to practice it should not be on weekends or holidays with the first tee times. I do hope the course conditions improve.

Solid course in NE Ohio
Some fairways have been hammered with rain/flooding and just really beat up. Tee boxes on some holes too. Greens in great shape though, staff is solid. Layout lived up to rep. Would recommend.
