Grantwood Golf Course

About
Grantwood Golf Course is one of the best golf values in the greater Cleveland area. The course sits next to Timberlake Recreation Park, a scenic park with a large fishing lake and picnic areas that are perfect for outdoor gatherings. The layout features small, undulating greens that are protected by more than 40 strategically placed bunkers. Water also comes into play on 10 holes in the form of a meandering creek and several ponds. The golf course is a challenging-but-fair test for players of all skill levels. Beginners and high handicappers won't be intimidated by long forced carries and won't have to worry about losing balls on every hole. Grantwood Golf Course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and the tees are in close proximity, making this a perfect layout for walking.

Still a nice tract
Hadn't played here in over a decade. It was a beautiful afternoon and the course was mobbed, so pace was slow, but I was on a golf course so it's all good.
Not Happy
I called the day before before I book and asked about carts on path or not. They told me that carts were off paths everywhere but on 2 holes so I booked the course. There was no rain over night and after driving 45 minutes the next day to play this course they tell me at the counter that it is cart path only!! That is not good management! I could have driven 5 minutes from my house and played cart path only. Shame on their management!
Grantwood Golf in November
Grantwood in my opinion has stayed top notch to play for this season!! Fairways were clean the amount of leaves on the course were minimal for the season. The greens were outstanding, and the staff was very friendly and caring.
I would recommend to play here 😀💯
Grantwood in early November
Leaves were mostly removed, sand was wet and not playable greens and fairways good , ball washers removed, bring a wet rag.
Nice layout
Fairways were in great shape tees and greens were pretty good.
Impact of People
This was my first time at this course, and would love to come back. Layout was fun, and the pace of play made it a great day of golf.
I gave 3 stars to 'Staff Friendliness', and feel it is worth explaining. When checking in the staff in the clubhouse were exceptionally grumpy. Not only rude to me, but when I had another question to ask before I started out, say them be rude to several others. BUT, Larry (Player Assistance) who met us on the first tee was exceptional in every way. He was fun, having fun, and making sure we were going to start the round on a good note.
It was a true tale of two people, but I want Larry to get his due. If it was not for him, I could honestly cross this course off and be fine not returning, but he gave me a reason to want to play there again.

Rolling hills; very tight
Great course with rolling hills and blind shots. Lots of dog legs and very small greens. Driving range and nice area to chip and putt also. First hole is very challenging with out of bounds on both sides. Hard course to walk but if you can walk it you will burn a load of calories. Greens are very true. My only complaint is that this course was $40 to walk and $50 to ride 18 holes. $35 to walk would be more reasonable.
Pros: water on the course, ball washers on the course.
We apologize for the miscommunication about the cart policy, and we understand your frustration. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we will work to ensure that this doesn't happen again in the future.
