About
Grantwood Golf Course is one of the best golf values in the greater Cleveland area. The course sits next to Timberlake Recreation Park, a scenic park with a large fishing lake and picnic areas that are perfect for outdoor gatherings. The layout features small, undulating greens that are protected by more than 40 strategically placed bunkers. Water also comes into play on 10 holes in the form of a meandering creek and several ponds. The golf course is a challenging-but-fair test for players of all skill levels. Beginners and high handicappers won't be intimidated by long forced carries and won't have to worry about losing balls on every hole. Grantwood Golf Course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and the tees are in close proximity, making this a perfect layout for walking.

Improvements for 2025
The biggest improvement at Grantwood in 2025 is new golf carts. The old ones were in sore need of replacement. The clubhouse is well appointed. The staff person working the desk was really nice. Greens are OK as to condition and the fairways and rough were in pretty good shape. I was paired up with another single and we finished the round in four hours without much of a wait behind the group in front of us. The course is a little tricky with hazards and you would benefit from having your own GPS.
No value
5 hr 8 minute round. 3 groups stacked at the turn. Greens havent been tended for a couple days....shaggy and damaged cups which were dried out which shows lack of watering. Nearly all bunkers unplayable due to standing water from rain several days ago. Feels like maintenance is minimal. About $10 too much for what it is.
Nice average city run course
Only fault is that the starter after I started my round (already 249 yards down the fairway) hooked me up with another golfer that came late... he wasn't the most social guy, and a grumpy golfer - he suggested I go ahead - and I did - and caught up to the group in front of me on the 5th hole (3 folks) and I joined them for a nice round of golf. the rough was a little long due to all the wet weather and hard to mow.

The golf course was in good shape. Thought the greens could have been a little faster. But it was fun.

Despite a crummy Spring weather wise, course was in pretty good shape. Greens were solid. Fairways lush.
Traps...meh.
No Carts
Only complaint we have was that we had to wait for carts to be available. Course was in the middle of exchanging carts for new ones, but there was a shortage of carts on the course. It just would have been nice to have prior warning.
Full price on a Tuesday and half the course was underwater
I cannot believe this course was open yet alone charging full price… They were mowing while we were there and mowers were getting stuck in the fairway. At one point a tractor ran over my ball. I realize that weather has not been optimal, however, the course should have been half price. $52 for a Tuesday when the course is unplayable is outrageous.
