Grantwood Golf Course

About
Grantwood Golf Course is one of the best golf values in the greater Cleveland area. The course sits next to Timberlake Recreation Park, a scenic park with a large fishing lake and picnic areas that are perfect for outdoor gatherings. The layout features small, undulating greens that are protected by more than 40 strategically placed bunkers. Water also comes into play on 10 holes in the form of a meandering creek and several ponds. The golf course is a challenging-but-fair test for players of all skill levels. Beginners and high handicappers won't be intimidated by long forced carries and won't have to worry about losing balls on every hole. Grantwood Golf Course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and the tees are in close proximity, making this a perfect layout for walking.

Need rangers going around the course
Need rangers going around the course to speed up play. Front 9 was fine. Back 9 was pretty bad as a result of two really slow foursomes.
Grantwoof
Would play again but never use golf now paid for 18 and golf course only let us play 9 because it was after 2:00. Golf now said we could play 18 and paid for 18.
Golf
Course was great but purchasing 18 holes from golf now sucked it was late in the day and they only let us play 9 after 2:00 so I don’t know how you could sell us a round of 18 holes for four people. Will never use golf now and on top of it I had to pay your convenience fee if 13.96.
It was good, but not my type of course
The course itself was good, the greens were good, loved the layout, staff was nice. It’s just not my type of course, I only played the front nine and am not a fan of hearing cars pass by every 5 seconds. Everything else was fine, I’m just picky. The best hole was number 3 which is a slight dog leg right par 4 that then has a water hazard in front of the green, beautifully design. Overall good course, but just not the type of course for me.
Brutal.
I played this course at around 8am with a buddy of mine. The first 9 the greens/rough were still not cut down. Not only that but the course was in such bad condition we almost had to lift clean and place every shot, even though it hadn't rained. The greens have 0 consistency and sound like concrete when you hit them. They aren't quick greens, they are concrete and poor quality. Did not enjoy my round at all.
Challenging but fair track in great condition
The course was in great shape. Although there was league play going on at the time, the pace of play was fantastic. Couldn’t ask for more!
Fairways and Greens not Cut
I have played here many times in the past. The grass is fine but needs to be cut. There has been enough rain and there is not much danger of burning the grass. Also, price is much higher compared to other city owned courses like Lost Nations which are in much better shape. However, this course is in better shape than another of our past favorite -- Gleneagles.

Holiday weekend golf
Will preface this by stating I understand it was a holiday weekend and the course is going to play slower than usual. However, I booked the last hot deal meaning there should have been 3 more in my group, something happened and the starter ended up grabbing me off the putting green and asking me if I was ready. I ended up going off as a single behind a league of 4s… and I know they were playing for flags and skins but a 5 hour + round at this course as a single was painstakingly slow.
Rough was really deep, greens were OK. They rolled relatively true but they have a spongey bounce to them that makes them extremely unreceptive. I was having a hard time getting anything to hold the green. My advice is play a club short and let it land just short of the green and it will bounce and trickle up. With very few forced carries once you learn that course plays quite easy. Bunkers were absolutely terrible. Hard as the infield when you played little league baseball. Cart girls only take cash…
All in all was a slow day, but I enjoyed getting out there

Grantwood staff needs to be replaced
Old grumpy mean jerky men that niceness and manners have passed them by. Need to replaced by nice younger people that treat people with respect. I’m 55 and these guys are unreal! It will be at while before I go back there. On another note I like the course. Staff sucks!
The guy in the pro shop
Went to check in for my tee time and was shocked at the rude guy running the pro shop. I thought the old jerk was going to bite my head off because my partner had paid for his tee time already and I had no idea that he had checked in. He never told me he had checked in so I tried to pay for the both of us and the guy was a total jerk and kept saying pay for one, with no explanation. I not sure if this guy was having a bad day but customer care is not his strong suit. This guy may need a course in anger management.
We apologize for the experience you had during your round at our course. We appreciate your feedback and we are sorry that the conditions were not up to your expectations. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
