Reid Park Golf Club - South Course

About
Reid Park Golf Club has two 18-hole courses available, the North and the South. Originally opened in 1967, Reid Park has established a reputation as one of the best golf values in the area. The South Course is a challenging but playable layout, which is why it is the home course for many of the area's high school teams. The golf course is laid across gently rolling, open terrain that allows for the occasional errant shot. It has a very player-friendly nature and it is easy to walk. The course is not overly punishing but there are still a few challenges in store. If you're looking for a tougher test, the championship North Course is the way to go. In addition to Reid Park's two golf courses, there is also a driving range and two putting greens.

Great course
Very nice course, greens were fast, but in good condition. Not much water to contend with, and NO sand traps. Overall, a very nice course. Note that Reid has two courses, and both are very nice. Great value for golf, especially when one books a "hot deal"
Another good golf day.
Course in good shape, Greens better than other courses around. Played alone on Saturday afternoon.
Creating my on slow play
Slow Play Day
Extremely busy and slow pace of play. Waited on a foursome that wouldn't let us play through as a scramble couple. Finally gave up since it was so slow. Not a good idea to play on a Sunday afternoon. Was told no waiting for later in the day by other friends.
in town for a meeting
was in town for a meeting and played both the north and the south. courses were in great condition. I got stuck behind a league, so round took longer than expected on the 2nd day. The first day, I was able to skip around some slower players and circle back to play the holes I had skipped. I played all 18 in 2 hours.
Player friendly
Beautiful course with some hills great cut fairways very nice greens. I thought overall player friendly wide fairways and lots of trees but very nice course
Ok
Course itself was good however i became frustrated after finding out there were 2 leagues and a high school even
Nice course
Nice course a little busy but that is to be expected this time of year. Overall nice place
Well laid out course
I Like the overall layout of the course. Friendly staff.
Great Course Conditions
The course was in top notch shape. Only thing that hurts it is not knowing where to go from the green to the next tee box. The cart paths don't always lead to the hole you're going to. The gentelman at the front desk was a little rude, but that didn't effect the way I felt about the course or my day. The ladies in the restaurant were very friendly and loved they recommended items on the menu.
Beautiful
Beautiful course. . Very well maintained. Didn't stay for a beverage due to only beer being the choice.
My Review
Great course, Just the people who work there are not to friendly, need customer service help I will not be playing here if I can help it
reid south
Not played golf in 8 years. Course in better shape than it was at that time.
Reid Park south Course
Only thing I could complain about was the next tee box is not well marked where to go. I played two extra holes because I went to the wrong tee box and played before I figured out I was playing the wrong hole. The score card does not have a map of the course and there are no signs which tee box was next. Other than that, had a wonderful time. Wasn't crowed, other golfers was very friendly and helpful (steered me toward the correct tee box) and allowed groups to play trough.
T Times
We had a t-time at 1:37 but so did 4 other foursomes. They put other people ahead of us thinking that they could crowd more people onto the course. It was a disaster. We were unable to finish the round due to the length of play and the fact that we had to start on hole three. We were told that they inserted othe foursomes, who didn't have t-times, into the mix of those who had t-times. Therefore, we had to start on hole three or wait well beyond our t-time to start play. When we finished playing our round and tried to play holes one and two, there were 6 foursomes waiting to tee off. A DISASTER. This is the second time in a week, on the same course, that this has happened. Doesn't make for a fun round of golf!
5 STARS
Had a great time. No complaints. The staff was friendly from the clubhouse to the refreshment cart. The course was awesome.
Not customer friendly
I had tried to get out of this tee time cause of the cold consistent rain. I asked for a raincheck from the course and he said I had to call golf now and then they would call him to confirm and I would get a refund from golf now. I did that but when golf now called the course he said it wasn't raining at the time. I just talked to him 5 min earlier! My foursome went and played the most miserable 10 holes ever! We were suppose to play 18 holes but it was a struggle to get through what we got through! This course has been threatening to have to close for years now. All this course had to say was yes we will give you a raincheck and you and your friends come back on a nicer day. There are plenty of courses around this area so they will be getting my golf business from now on.Making your customers happy Is a thing still in this day and age. I will never go back to this course again and will advise my many golfing friends of the way in which we were treated.
Great Course for the Price
Reid South is a great course for the price ($16 for 18 w/cart). The only problem I had was on the first hole there was two singles a walker and a rider, and they played separate the whole time. Course needs a ranger. Overall great course. would play again.
offers excellent golf for all handicaps
played for ten dollars on golfnow.com/ since the city of Springfield has closed 18 of the 54 holes they maintained last year and are now focusing all their resources on the remaining 36 the results speak for themselves. would recommend playing either course. The north course is by far the more challenging/higher handicaps the south course is perfect not to hard not to easy. For public courses you will be pleasantly surprised at the condition.
