Reid Park Golf Club - North Course

About
There are two 18-hole courses at Reid Park Golf Club, the North and the South. The courses have been providing one of the greater Springfield area's best golf values for over 40 years. The championship North Course is the longer and more challenging of the two. The South Course is open and walkable while the North Course features a hillier terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Mature trees frame the large, slick greens and there are also strategically placed bunkers throughout. Many locals consider it to be one of the toughest golf courses in the area. Though there are different tees so that you can play to your skill level, beginners may want to stick with the South Course, which still has challenges but is more player-friendly than the North.

No walk in the Park
Reid Park (North) is the muni course that every city would love to own. It is a true championship challenge with lots of hills and very sloped (and slick) greens. Normal 'gimmie' putts are no sure thing! Some holes have shrunken fairways thanks to some massive trees. During the current COVID measures of no rakes, it was a pleasant surprise to see the bunkers freshly turned and well maintained. In relatively flat Ohio, this course has plenty of hills. Call me when the cart paths get re-paved and I will happily award the 5th star to my review. An overall fantastic value with many challenging holes, Reid Park (North) is NO easy walk in the park.
Beautiful Course
This course is very well maintained. The fairways were in great shape and the greens rolled true. There is a little elevation to deal with, but not a single sand bunker on the course and only a few have water in play. If you can hit straight, you should be able to put up a pretty low score here.
Mr. Travel
With the new greens keeper from Ohio State this course has improved 100%
Great job
With all the rain in Ohio this year they have done a great job with the upkeep of the course and Springfield should be proud to have Reid golf course,
Incredible Course
This is by far the best course I’ve played this year. The course is absolutely in great condition, and this is late July where we have been very dry for the last month. For the price this course is an absolute must play. This course could easily be $20 more and I wouldn’t even flinch at the price. It is a challenging course with many blind shots and some very tight holes and lots of dog legs. In the top 5 on my favorite list and I’ve played a few Top 100 courses. Will absolutely play again.
Best shape course around for November
We are playing on NOV 9th mind you! The greens were airfied 4 weeks ago and you can't tell!. they added sand appropriately and brushed it in the whole green. They putted like it was July! Plenty of work still being done by maint personell. Very few places where the leaves have not been cleaned up and there are a bunch of trees. Very impressed for November golf and the price was right!
Beautiful in the fall
I play this course a lot and today it was in great shape. The staff is super friendly and the course is in excellent shape. The North course is difficult I've been playing out most of my life . They've already completed aeration in the course has come back beautifully the greens are bear the fairways are in great shape. You can book it on GolfNow with a hot deal for around $10 and between noon and one. I recommend playing it before the seasons over.
my current favorite course
it takes me 45 minutes to reach the reid park facility.
i love this place. the staff are awesome. there is real food available prepared with TLC. the course is grown up and beautiful. conditions could not have been any better. only 2 roads from the freeway (easy to find). schmack em dudes! and dudettes! ps nice driving range and practice putting greens.
nice course
good layout good condition a few tricky holes but overall a nice experience. Play the North course over the south. dont walk the north course tho get a cart. walk the south course, not as hilly
Reid North Course
Tee to green the course was in excellent shape, the layout is varied and can be very challenging. It was a great value to play using Golf Now.
Great course but...
Love playing here because the layout is different in comparison to other local golf tracks. Has a good mix of easy scoring holes and good luck making par. Conditions are good for a public course that receives a fair amount of play. Greens were rolling well. Pace of play is horrendous and we skipped four holes just to get under the 4 hour mark. Worth playing even with the slow play aspect. Will play here again!
Slow play
I have played this course for many years and then started playing courses all over Ohio. I was really shocked when after 3 holes I caught up with a five some of golfers. Needless to say a 3 hour day of golf turned into a 5 hour day. When I was finished I noted several five some teeing off.
I will never play this course again.
This course is in great shape, even well into November.
Fairways trim, neat and free of fall leaves. Greens rolled true.
Great muni with tough fast greens.
Awesome! Thanx to GolfNow for offering such gems at cheap costs. Even the beer was only $2. The rolling terrain, tight fairways & ttilted greens make this course tough. Hit it long & straight!
Great condition
I have played this course for many years . The greens and fairways are in the best condition that I have ever seen
In Great Condition
This is a wonderful old woods course that is interesting and challenging. It was in excellent condition the day we played. My only complaint is we played in midafternoon and for our last four holes they brought out cart loads of junior high golfers for each hole and told us to just play through them. Frankly, this sucked. They were talking while you are trying to play and no one wants all these boys hanging out around the green while they are trying to play.
North well maintained
The north course is always in great shape. every hole is challenging for me since i am mediocre player. We walked right on and never felt rushed by groups behind us. Very nice course
greens were fabulous
Enjoyed our round of 18 holes on a wednesday
afternoon. Condition of this muni course was
Excellent. Greens were receptive, beutiful and
rolled really true. Only negative was that we ran
Into some really slow play on about hole 14 ...so
last four holes took a loooong time. All in all a good
day.
Great Challenge
This course did not disappoint, an excellent place to play. Excellent practice facilities also available.
Sure it's a great course if I could ever play it
I made a tee time for noon. I showed up, went into the pro shop said I have a tee time at noon. The guy looks at me stone faced and says your gonna have to wait about forty minutes. I understand that back ups occur, however this is now the second time this has happened. I asked the guy if I was charged yet and he said no. After that I left, the guy had no apology and no alternative to help me out. Customer service at this course is non existent and I don't plan to return anytime soon, it would just be a waste of time.
