Reid Park Golf Club - North Course

About
There are two 18-hole courses at Reid Park Golf Club, the North and the South. The courses have been providing one of the greater Springfield area's best golf values for over 40 years. The championship North Course is the longer and more challenging of the two. The South Course is open and walkable while the North Course features a hillier terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Mature trees frame the large, slick greens and there are also strategically placed bunkers throughout. Many locals consider it to be one of the toughest golf courses in the area. Though there are different tees so that you can play to your skill level, beginners may want to stick with the South Course, which still has challenges but is more player-friendly than the North.

Beautiful and challenging
Was surprised by the shape of the greens this time of year, as they were in amazing condition. The course is beautiful and challenging. Great value for the money!
Best round of my golf life! (43 years)
It's a course like most that you want to stay on or near the fairway to be able to score well. I was fortunate to be hitting well that day and pulled off a 76. :) The greens and fairways are holding up well considering how dry it has become lately. The bunkers still need a lot of work.
Disappointed
First off course was not in the greatest of shape greens weren’t that bad except for a few PEIA play though five hours and 40 minutes for a round of golf because we’re following two fivesome and a foursome that held everybody up all day no Rangers no car girl no beverages out on the course if you’re gonna charge 50 bucks at least make it worth that
Pace of play is horrible
I played there yesterday 8/11/25 and I have played there quite a bit and pace of play has always been a problem but yesterday I took us 5 1/2 hrs to play a round on the North course. I will probably not play here again due to absolutely zero enforcement on pace of play!!
The rough was tough
If you miss the fairway, keep a close watch of where your ball goes. It was hard to find our ball sometimes. Most of the bunkers were pretty much unplayable. Many courses around here this year are this way. But for $16 each with the hot deal, you can't complain about much! :)
A great course
I really enjoy the friendly staff and a great course. It is well kept, but the rough is quite thick!
Still a nice track!
Although it has been a few years since I have played this course, it is in nice condition. There are a few trees and shrubs missing; my guess is weather and other, but there is a chance to swing away, as well as you need to place certain shots. If in the area and for the value, stop by and play the North course.
A diamond and not in the rough
I have played this course about a half dozen times using my Golf pass. I love the north course in particular. Nice people too.
Great Local Course
This is a course i grew up playing on. It really is coming back as a favorite. It's been known to struggle with its condition, but the staff has really stepped up their game. I'm please to call this my home Muny again.
Wonderful course
Greens are large and not too fast or too slow. Fairway in good condition. Rough is tolerable. Lost 3 balls just a few yards off the Fairway. I was playing by myself. Staff was friendly and helpful. Best course i played this year. Will definitely play again.
Slowplay
There should be a ranger on the course. The pace of play was ridiculous! There were two guys ahead of us that thought they owned the course hitting multi balls, not starting each hole in a timely manner. They were bad golfers playing at the longest tee boxes and could not hit the darn ball. They took 10-15 strokes per hole. They needed to learn the game and start on a Par 3 course. This was totally unnecessary! Poor management!
