Reid Park Golf Club - North Course
About
There are two 18-hole courses at Reid Park Golf Club, the North and the South. The courses have been providing one of the greater Springfield area's best golf values for over 40 years. The championship North Course is the longer and more challenging of the two. The South Course is open and walkable while the North Course features a hillier terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Mature trees frame the large, slick greens and there are also strategically placed bunkers throughout. Many locals consider it to be one of the toughest golf courses in the area. Though there are different tees so that you can play to your skill level, beginners may want to stick with the South Course, which still has challenges but is more player-friendly than the North.

excellent condition
From the moment you arrive at the golf course the staff does their best to help you out with anything you need. From the novice to the experienced you can find everything you need to make your trip a successful one. Each hole was well maintained and game play ran like clockwork. Overall I was extremely pleased with the course and would say it is a must play to any of those looking for a challenge!
Spring Golf
The course plays long in the spring with the added rain making the rough tough to get out of. The greens are always fast and with severe breaks. Very few gimmes on these greens.
Long rough
Course great shape, don't get above the hole, you will 3 putt ! Lot of slope on this course. Everything was great but rough was long so you had a lot of time looking for balls if you were not in the fairway.
Great course, but no distance markers
Reid North was a great, challenging course. However, there were no distance markers out on the course and no maps on the holes or scorecard to have any idea as to the hole layout. Luckily 2 of our foursome had played there before, otherwise we would have no idea where we were hitting, especially with the hills and unexpected water ahead. It was also very frustrating to often just have to guess how far out we were since there were no yardage markers. In addition to that, there was an old power-hungry starter that was somehow able to find a way to get upset about anything. All in all, it was an enjoyable course, but if I was really trying to score well, I would have been very upset about the lack of pre-shot information I was able to find. If they added maps to the scorecard, yardage posts on the holes, and a friendlier staff, this would be one of the top courses in the area.
My favorite course
Reid North's mature trees and hilly terrain make it both scenic and challenging. (Slope rating 129 from the men's regular tees). Each hole has its own character and poses a unique test of golf skills. The greens are well maintained and most of the fairways as well. The rough can be dicey but that's part of the challenge of the course. It has to be one of the best city courses in Ohio.
Will be back soon. $10 same day replay is the best deal in the Miami Valley.

South course OK only
South course is a lot of back and forth layout in which you are in contact with other players on other holes. Nothing special. Not much elevation changes. Fairways reasonable well kept. Greens ok. About average for the area. The North course is a star better with more distance between holes and elevation changes are challenging. Given the GolfNow discounts, a very good deal. I would not pay their normal rates.
Don't be in a hurry...
Had a two-some on the North course. Don, the starting ranger, looking up from reading a book told us to go "wherever we wanted". Well, a game that should have taken 3 hours..... we played 16 holes in 4 1/2 hours and finally gave up. There were up to 4 groups on a hole at one point. Hit the ball and wait was the name of the game at this course
Ridiculous. Starting ranger failed to do his job and due to that fact, that ruined our experience at Reid Memorial and won't be returning.
Other than that, course was well maintained.
Sneaky fast greens
I really like this course. The course is in very good shape. The greens were excellent and sneaky fast.
The course has great challenging features
the course is challenging for all types of players. The course has water on it and the greens have some undilation to them.
It was a great deal. Hadn't been there in years and the course was in great shape.
Nice place to play. Greens were great and really the whole course was in good condition. Need a beer cart on the course and it would have been golden.
Decent....
We were stuck behind a 5 some and the course was great about breaking it up, but then they got back together at the turn. Little frustrating and the round took awhile. Thick rough, and you could lose a ball in the 2nd cut. Either way, the course was in good shape, and you can score, but you have to hit the fairways. If you don't, then you won't do as well as you think you should.
Beautiful track!
I would recommend this course to anyone wanting a challenge. The course was in fantastic shape and the staff was welcoming, courteous and professional.
Challenging rough
Staff was not friendly at all! Acted like he didn't care if we played the course or not.
The course is challenging!
The North course was as challenging as ever, however the sand depth in the bunkers was very thin with a hard pan underneath.
The rough was very high which was acceptable and properly penalizing.
90+ degrees and no refreshments/drinks cart to be seen all day!
Great value
One of the more challening courses in the area.We played from the blues and was plenty enough. Used almost every club in the bag.Great value for the money
Good greens.
Course was in great condition, only negative was some bunkers are being renovated. Excellent value for the money. My group would definitely go back.
very good course, requires more visual aids, distance markings, directions to next hole and scorecard map of holes.
great experience, worth the 45 min. drive. fairly challenging well kept, fairly hilly, slooping fairways some doglegs. nice par 3s. Recommend for a good player, we played the north course. South course for an average player, still a nice course.
Good for the price
Rough needs some attention dandelions are very prevelent, and course holes are not very well defined. But very good value for a hot deal!
Course is in decent shape but rough is too long.
Reid North is the most difficult of the three Springfield city courses. We experienced a half hour rain delay on the second hole which saturated the course for the remainder of our round. Overall the course was in average condition. The greens putted well but the rough was too long, possibly because rain earlier in the week kept the mowers away. Cart paths (when they exist) are in bad shape and should probably just be avoided. The greenside bunker on #2 remains a mess and should probably be grasssed over. Challenging course that would be really great if it could be given more attention than the municipal budget allows.
