Reid Park Golf Club - North Course
About
There are two 18-hole courses at Reid Park Golf Club, the North and the South. The courses have been providing one of the greater Springfield area's best golf values for over 40 years. The championship North Course is the longer and more challenging of the two. The South Course is open and walkable while the North Course features a hillier terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Mature trees frame the large, slick greens and there are also strategically placed bunkers throughout. Many locals consider it to be one of the toughest golf courses in the area. Though there are different tees so that you can play to your skill level, beginners may want to stick with the South Course, which still has challenges but is more player-friendly than the North.

Had Reid Pk all to ourselves
The greens have taken a hit in this recent drought. There are some quirky holes on the North course such as 9 which some distance to the pond would be nice. 11 has a fairway that is not necessarily running the same way as the hole? 13 would be nice to know how far the creek is from the tee box.the tee boxes have also taken a hit in the drought.
Solid course!
First time playing, very nice course with a nice layout. North is hilly with challenging greens super fun. All the staff was nice.
Tough course
The course was a bit baked out, but that's not too uncommon for a muni course this time of year. The layout is always strong, and the back 9 is just such a fun challenge.
Not 4 star
This is a review after playing today. Not a paid reviewer or bot. Played at around noon today. Got there 45 min early. Man at pro shop said go when you are ready. I putted for about 15 min and by the time I teed off, no one had gone off for about 20 min. Course had some interesting holes but was not long.(6700 from the tips) the fairways were very long. The rough had a lot of clover in it. The cart paths were extremely rough, even going slow. The greens all had some kind of damage to different degrees. The tee boxes were also in need of mowing. The absolute worst thing was the pace of play. I played first 6 holes fine until I caught anyone. Playing as a single, I expect to catch up to people. But there were at one point 5 groups including myself on 2 holes. 10-12 min wait on the tee. I watched one person hit 4 balls off the tee with groups waiting. After hole 13 I left. I explained my issue to a very nice employee at the clubhouse after I returned my cart. He said I should have called and they would have sent someone out to the hole. Yea, maybe, but a good old fashioned ranger would work great! Pace of play is hard on everyone and it makes for a long day and breaks up rhythm and momentum. All in all, the course isn’t ,in my opinion, a 4+ star course. Booking through the app made it affordable but still wish it was better. I gave it an overall 3 (3.5) just my experience, hope it helps.
Reed 8/15/24
Challenging course, unfortunately the greens were in bad condition with some kind of infection Fairways suffered the same in many areas
Fungus Revenge
Was disappointed that the greens have been attacked by some kind of fungus. Compounded by the fact that pins could have been placed more strategically away from the affected areas on the greens That being said, I am a big fan of Reid Park golf. Pro shop guys are great. Good golf value. Two courses give you choices. I am hopeful the greens will recover quickly and maybe all the sand traps can be maintained better including those that have been filled in.
Best of luck to the greens crew. I'm sure we will be back.
Lost the greens
Greens unplayable mostly. Water ponds disgusting they something to move the water and keep the green slime from growing. Probably could have walked on it.
Terrible condition
I payed $45 for 18 at this course and it was the worst conditioned greens I’ve seen. The fair ways and the tee boxes are in horrible condition as well. pace of play was horrendous as well. I’ve gotten way better for $10 at courses in each category, nonetheless $45
Nice Layout. Needs Better Maintenance
A very nice layout, but the bunkers have no sand, just dirt and rocks. Greens consistent and roll nicely. Golf shop staff is very friendly and accommodating. Grill isn't fancy, but the burgers are fantastic.
Well worth a visit
Really enjoyed Reid North as is more challenging than Reid south. Some really interesting holes and different elevations only added to the enjoyment. Will definitely be back next trip across the pond.
we will be back
course set up was excellent but greens were slower than we expected. some really interesting holes and loved the different elevations. really enjoyed our round and will definitely be back.
First Time Player
I was impressed by the course overall. Most of the bunkers need some TLC.
