Reid Park Golf Club - North Course
About
There are two 18-hole courses at Reid Park Golf Club, the North and the South. The courses have been providing one of the greater Springfield area's best golf values for over 40 years. The championship North Course is the longer and more challenging of the two. The South Course is open and walkable while the North Course features a hillier terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Mature trees frame the large, slick greens and there are also strategically placed bunkers throughout. Many locals consider it to be one of the toughest golf courses in the area. Though there are different tees so that you can play to your skill level, beginners may want to stick with the South Course, which still has challenges but is more player-friendly than the North.

Slowplay
There should be a ranger on the course. The pace of play was ridiculous! There were two guys ahead of us that thought they owned the course hitting multi balls, not starting each hole in a timely manner. They were bad golfers playing at the longest tee boxes and could not hit the darn ball. They took 10-15 strokes per hole. They needed to learn the game and start on a Par 3 course. This was totally unnecessary! Poor management!
Conditions
I know it’s early in the season but, this course was in terrible condition. It’s no longer being run by the city of Springfield. We played the North course which was always the nicer and most challenging of the two courses. I will play it again later in the season but, if it hasn’t done a complete 360 over its current condition I will just cross this course off the list. What a shame my only thought about this course right now is don’t waste your time or money.
Reid North GC
Hadn’t played this course in several years. The course was in good shape for the last of October. Greens and fairways were in good shape. Very nice prr shop and excellent food service. Would highly recommend. North course is tougher than the South.
North course
My buddy and I played on the North course on Friday. The course was as I remember, with a few greens that looked suspect at best. We did have a great time, I would recommend either North or South courses.
Great course
Will definitely be back to this course. Could have been mowed, but overall, was in pretty good condition. Had a couple greens that could use some work. Will be back.
Challenging course that held up well in drought conditions
Played the North course on Friday morning. We've been in quite a drought here in Central Ohio, a month of no rain, but the course was in as good of shape as you could expect. For $40 for 18 and a cart, you would be hard pressed to find better value.
Pin placements were wonderfully difficult. Couple of greens showing that we are in fact in a drought, but staff was doing all that could be expected.
Will definitely play again, hopefully under normal conditions.
