Roses Run Country Club
About
Roses Run Country Club is touted as being northeast Ohio's toughest public golf course. The course has an interesting mix of holes from lengthy par 4s to tough par 3s and reachable par 5s. The front nine is a traditional links layout while the back nine hugs the Cuyahoga River with winding fairways that melt into fast, sloping greens. The layout incorporates a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Roses Run Country Club will require some creative shot-making and the use of every club in your bag. It's a formidable layout that will test even the most skilled players. There is a driving range and practice putting green you can use for warming up, which might be a good idea before taking on this tough course.

Great Experience
Course layout was option, everyone was very nice, had a great time!
Course is not in good shape, greens and T-boxes are in horrible condition.

Past its prime....WAY past
I've played Roses Run a dozen times over the last 7 years. The last time out will BE my last time out. Tee boxes were a mess. Fairways were as thick as most courses first cut rough or chopped short and burned. The rough was partially cut with clumps everywhere . The greens were an absolute disgrace as they were intermittently bald (literally patches of dirt), scruffy, pock marked, or covered with weeds and dollar spots and they were bumpy and still had aeration holes.. One green was a perfect light yellow and dark green polka dot pattern. The bunkers were the best looking part. The carts looked like they were from 1970 and the one we had didn't have brakes! THIS WAS IN MID MAY! The course had 3 dry days after 5 days of rain....it should have been perfect! I won't go back. Just sell the place and plow it under

A hidden gem!
From out of state and after reading the reviews I was worried this course might not be that great, but boy were those reviews wrong. This course was in amazing shape and the layout, especially the back 9, was very challenging/scenic. Staff couldn’t have been more friendlier either. Next time I’m in Akron area this course will be a must replay!
Needs a lot of work
Roses Run has been going downhill over the last couple of years. Played there on Sunday, and my friend and I were very disappointed in the conditions. Multiple greens are very damaged. It seems they don't bother to treat diseased grass, and they don't bother to try to reseed once the grass has died. Bare dirt craters are unacceptable on a green. Greens also had multiple types of grass, and they hadn't been recently mowed, which led to very bumpy and slow greens. Untreated weeds, particularly dandelions, were everywhere. It might be worth it to pay $15-20 to play here, but not $39 as a hot deal.

Used to be better
Course conditions seem to be going down a lil. Greens were slow as I ever seen them. Carts were raggedy. Rough hadn't been cut. Other then that course has a nice layout and some cool holes. Price was fair.

Great track
Some really unique holes out here. Really enjoyed the views and the overall layout. Definitely a course to take a cart at. One of my favorites in the Akron area!
Slow, slow, slow
Bought 18 holes but left after 3 hours and only 9 holes. No staff out trying to move things along even after calling the clubhouse. Tee boxes were rough and weedy. Fairways and greens were relatively good. Carts looked like they were from the 20th century. I will return only to play the 9 holes they rain checked me

Miserable round
Where do I start? Grew up playing this course and always loved it. Play in a league here on mondays but my goodness the pace of play was absolutely abysmal! Had a couple in front of us messing around the entire time throwing balls and stuff with zero etiquette on the course and he tried giving a private lesson every single hole. Had another woman pull up behind us at the 9th hole and she just started playing the hole while we were in the fairway. Almost hit me in the face from about 30 yards and then started yelling at us. It was honestly one of the worst times I’ve ever had golfing. All things considered I shot an 84 on the day so I’m pleased with that, also the tee boxes are in very very rough shape.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Roses Run Country Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
Course Shape
The course is in fairly good shape. A few greens and tee boxes have issues, either to much water or dried out and need to be reworked. Fairways are in great shape like most greens.
Early Season Review
My wife and I played our first round of the year after it had been raining for two days so the course was very wet as expected. It was cart path only which can make for a tough day here because of the hills and rolling terrain. As wet as it was we still had a great day and couldn't believe how good the course was for this early in the season. We will be back soon !
Hello! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Roses Run Country Club.
