Roses Run Country Club
About
Roses Run Country Club is touted as being northeast Ohio's toughest public golf course. The course has an interesting mix of holes from lengthy par 4s to tough par 3s and reachable par 5s. The front nine is a traditional links layout while the back nine hugs the Cuyahoga River with winding fairways that melt into fast, sloping greens. The layout incorporates a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Roses Run Country Club will require some creative shot-making and the use of every club in your bag. It's a formidable layout that will test even the most skilled players. There is a driving range and practice putting green you can use for warming up, which might be a good idea before taking on this tough course.

Golfer Reviews
Worst course conditions ever
This course was absolutely in the worst condition I’ve ever seen . Clerk was more busy watching the golf on tv then checking me out at the register . Tee boxes were straight mud or sand. Looked like someone took a chainsaw to every single tee box and the fairways in all the holes . Half the holes looked like someone blew a flamethrower on it . Fried and dead everywhere . And where it wasn’t dead it was swamped and muddy like a tractor drove through it .

Pace of play
Terrible pace of play, 3 hour front nine. Poor course etiquette by players in front of me.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
Course needs some TLC
Course is in poor shape. Needs mowed, tee boxes were dirt, greens were damaged. No money being put into course.

From tee box to the green, the course was in the worst condition I’ve seen it in. Some holes were better than others but 80% of the holes were trash. Very disappointed.

We appreciate your feedback as we work to make any necessary improvements. Thank you for choosing to golf with us, and we look forward to seeing you again soon at Roses Run Country Club.
Not good
Pace and overall conditions on the course has gone down so bad the past 2 years. Stow is a very beautiful city, and now I can’t even play at roses after today. 50 bucks to a play a terrible pace and condition course is crazy.

Awful pace of play, 4 hours 40 mins to play 15 holes
Roses Run is Notorious for slow play. They do not have a starter at the first Teebox and just have you getting a line, my teatime was at 9:12 and my group didn’t tee off until 9:32. Each tee was stacked up with a group waiting to tee off, a group in the fairway and a group on the green. Eventually quit the round on hole 15, 4 hours and 40 minutes into the round. $50 for greens fee and tee boxes were more sand than grass, multiple torn up fairways and greens with massive dead spots. The scorecard has pace for this course around 4 hours 15 mins. Absolute mess, won’t play here again.
Thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve. Thank you for playing and we hope to see you again soon.
Needs work
Cart died on hole 8 had to go into pro shop to get a drink nobody in snack bar! Greens tore up . Had to skip 3 holes to make our 5 hour time table pace of play was BAD!! Probably won’t play it again this year.

Getting Worse
Could and used to be a great course. The layout is challenging and different every hole, overall great. The fairways, tee boxes and greens were in horrible condition and clearly have not but touch other than mowed. Divots all over the greens make it tough to putt. The pace of play the last 4 rounds have been delayed at least 30 minutes. They set tee times early in the morning but won’t let anyone on until the dew settles which is a delay every time. The last and worst part was that we had 3 carts die in 18holes. This is a once great but deteriorating golf course.

Nice Course
Played the back 9. It was cool. 12 hole is a nightmare better hit it straight. The greens were soft due to all the rain we had this week. I would play here again.
Thank you for leaving us a review. We are sorry to hear your experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you will give us another try in the future. Thank you for choosing Roses Run Country Club.
Friendly Staff!
I had never played here before. I was playing with 2 new golfers so naturally I was a little worried that we would hold people up. The starter was so nice and very helpful, even when one guy in my group was late. We were probably a real hassle for him but he was very professional and welcoming. The clerk in the pro shop and the bartender in the clubhouse were great hosts as well. It was a fairly difficult course for my group, but we look forward to coming back again!
Way too expensive for what it is
It was 50 for 18 holes. The tee boxes were destroyed, the greens were not the best, our cart lost juice on the 16th hole so anytime we had to go up hill we had to push the cart. It looked like there was no effort put into the landscaping. Not worth 50 dollars. Maybe worth 35.... MAYBE

6+ hours
Scorecard shows 4:16 pace of play. Four foursomes on the #5 tee and #12 tee. Two or three foursomes at other tees. Greens are good, except #17 (GIR, 5 put, hole set on a slope), fairway fine, tee boxes not. No driving range despite GolfNow/Roses Run/Policies/... Yes. Considering the terrain, cart brakes are concerning.

Improved condition
I haven’t played here in 12 years but was pleasantly surprised at the course conditions. There was a shotgun start outing coming off the course as we teed off so the front nine pace of play was awesome. We weren’t very happy when we made the turn in 80 minutes to find 2 groups waiting to tee off in hole 10 and 4 groups already in front of them. We skipped 4 holes to get in front of them, so didn’t get in our full 18 holes.
