Roses Run Country Club
About
Roses Run Country Club is touted as being northeast Ohio's toughest public golf course. The course has an interesting mix of holes from lengthy par 4s to tough par 3s and reachable par 5s. The front nine is a traditional links layout while the back nine hugs the Cuyahoga River with winding fairways that melt into fast, sloping greens. The layout incorporates a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Roses Run Country Club will require some creative shot-making and the use of every club in your bag. It's a formidable layout that will test even the most skilled players. There is a driving range and practice putting green you can use for warming up, which might be a good idea before taking on this tough course.

Golfer Reviews
Agitated
We booked day before and were not informed about course conditions. We were forced to play the back nine twice, the greens were arrayed and were charged full price. Drove 50 mins and had to settle for terrible circumstances.
Had I known
I understand it’s Fall in Ohio and most courses will start to perform maintenance. It just would’ve been nice to know that I would be playing the back nine twice when I purchased the 18 holes. This was due to the front 9 being shut down for maintenance. Also, would be nice to know ahead of time that the 9 I’m playing twice has already just been aerated.
Hello, we appreciate you reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the miscommunication you had when booking your round. Your feedback about playing the back 9 twice due to our recent aerification is important to us. We always want to make sure our golfers are clear about their purchase before checking out. We ask that you reach out to our team in the pro shop for further resolution in this matter. Thank you for playing Roses Run Country Club. We hope to hear from you soon.

Backed up
I had a tea time for 248 and when I arrive I had four different foursomes at the first tee. It was terribly backed up and had to leave after the 7th hole due to other plans I had made.
Had the same issue yesterday as well, booked 18 at 12:24 and then left after a 3 and a half hour front nine. Didn’t even bother trying to get a refund. Sadly used to play this course weekly but it’s not worth having 6-7 hour rounds. Maybe I’ll try them again next year.
Hello, thank you for reviewing the course. We would like to apologize for the delay of play during your round. Please know that this is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and to best control pace allowing everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve, and use your comments as guidance in doing so. Thank you for playing Roses Run Country Club. We hope to see you again soon.
Highly Recommended
Great layout- this course will make you think. Very friendly staff. My group had an excellent experience.
Pace of play was the only concern but that is simply a byproduct of the layout. Play slows down due to the combination of challenging Par 3s, some short Par 4s, and Par 5s that can be reached in two.
Good riding course
If you like to walk look elsewhere. In a housing development so lots of white stakes and golf cart riding. That said, the back 9 has some holes as challenging as anywhere. Cool track.
Good challenging track
A shot maker’s course. Knowing the layout is very helpful. If you know it, scoring is very possible. Tee boxes need some love but the rest of the course was in good shape. Not many courses have yardage books anymore...if they had one here, it would be very helpful.
I didn't go due to bad weather
Couldn't golf it was hail heavy rain and thundering .
Love this course
Can't get enough of this course and they finally took out that tree on the 13th hole.
Needs a ranger
Personally play this course once a week at minimum. The pace of play these past two weeks has been atrocious. I was on the course for 5 hours and had gotten through 13 holes. Tee boxes are in rough shape but overall course in good shape. The staff when we left was all college kids so I was definitely not going to complain on them, however they need to not overbook or get a ranger to maintain pace.
Hello and thank you for reviewing the course. We would like to apologize for the delay of play during your round. Please know that this is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With an uncharacteristically full day, we work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and allow our guest the chance to complete their rounds. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve. Thank you for playing Roses Run Country Club. We hope to see you again soon.
It’s golf, but...
The course has some pretty bad drainage to the point that you’re driving through a lot of muck even on the cart path. A little bit of construction on one of the holes, which is understandable. Overall though, it’s tough not to have fun golfing and we did. The slow pace let us talk a bit and gave me the opportunity to get a few pointers to improve my game. I think at the end of the day I’ve heard better stuff about other places nearby than what I experienced here.

Challenging
First time playing here. Course is challenging and fun. Front 9 is easier than the back. Certain areas were really wet from the sprinklers but overall a good time.
A True Golf Course not a Cow Pasture
The best thing about this course is the difficulty. You will use every club in your bag. It requires you to make good shots. The range of difficulty varies from hole to hole easy to extremely hard.
The conditions are a factor of players who don't respect or know how to take care of a golf course. Other wise conditions would be excellent
One of my favorite courses!
The front 9 layout is one of the most fun I've played. I had a blast here early in the season when it wasn't that crowded. The back 9 is a challenge, especially holes 12-15 are very narrow. If you can one-putt on hole 17 then you deserve an award.
The tee boxes and rate of play can both be sub par depending on time of day, but that mostly has to do with the crowd. When people drink too much this usually happens. I've been stick behind fivesomes before.
Overall this is one of my favorite courses and I would recommend it!!
